Where to begin??... The quote to build my 75' gabion retaining wall began in March 2022. The first draw of 50% was paid May 9 and their first day on the job was 30 DAYS AFTER I paid the 50% deposit. That's a long time to float someone's $3,700 in your bank's interest-bearing account. Strike one. Halfway thru the 4-day project, I was told that to finish the originally quoted 75' of wall it would cost an EXTRA $3,600!! WTH..? The owner Richard Carter and his crew took the measurements and quoted accordingly. Strike two. Two days after the completion, I noticed they'd used OLD, RUSTY wire to tie the steel panels together, instead of the "$50 wire for tying" that is shown on the Quote. Strike three. And, if that's not enough to dissuade you, the job was not fully completed as per the agreement. There are multiple areas of backfill left empty and unfilled. What a sloppy mess. Strike four. Repeated attempts to reconcile these irregularities and concerns with the owner have proved futile. I received no contacts and no resolutions after the checks were cashed. My Angi experiences to date are now DONE. Over the course of several projects, I've had nothing but poor quality work, unreliable contractors, relentless no-shows, and now these underhanded means of doubling profits. I guess this is the new Angi. SMH
