Ellis Garage Doors

I had been looking through Angie's List to try to find someone to help replace one of the springs on my garage door. I was finding that the average price for this was around $200-$300. I found these quotes to be pretty high and with little or no luck finding a warranty, I wasn't willing to pay that. I came across Ellis Enterprises on a random advertisement and decided to give them a call. I spoke to Mr. Ellis (D.W.) and he was at my house within the hour. He looked at the issue and went back to the shop to see if he had the correct type of spring in stock. He called me right back and asked if it would be okay to come by after his lunch and install it. When he arrived to install the part, he was extremely efficient and quick. He also gave me a warranty on the job, which was greatly appreciated. D.W. was obviously a professional and was very knowledgeable and serious about his work. I was definitely satisfied and know who to call if I have any other garage door issues in the future.

My garage door spring broke and we could not get out cars out. I called Ellis Enterprises at 7:30 a.m. Mr. Ellis was very professional, told me he would be at our home on or before 9 a.m. He arrived before 8:30, had the parts necessary to make the repair and was gone before 9 a.m. He absolutely knew what he was doing and got the job done quickly, efficiently and at a very reasonable price

Super efficient! Left vm at 10:07 am. Mr. Ellis called back at 10:35 and it is now 12:05 pm and my garage door is fixed!!!

Our garage door would not close.  I called Enterprise and set up an appointment for the next.  He was very busy because the cold weather was affecting many area  garage doors.  At that time he gave us an estimate for the work.

He arrived a few minutes early.  When he looked at the door he explained that the cold weather threw the alignment off so the door was not sensing properly.  He also explained that we were using the wrong kind of lubricant and that was adding to the problem. 

He cleaned up our runners and lubricated well.  Since the door needed only service and not repair he charged for a service call only.  He also said that he was not going to cash the check for 3 days to ensure that we were happy with  the service.

We are very happy with the service.  The door operates properly and is so, so quiet.  The door has never run so quietly or smoothly, even when it was brand new.

Mr Ellis was able to come by several hours after I called him regarding a garage door opener that would not hold settings. The unit was 16 years old and he said the board was basically shot and recommended a new opener. He would have expedited installation but since he only takes cash/checks it was OK by me to wait a week until he made his Monday run to San Antonio for materials.
He returned calls during business hours (he only operates Monday -Thursday) and was courteous, prompt and professional. The new install went very well and is nicer than the unit I had previously.
His labor rate is $60 an hour (at least for this purpose). Although he charged $120 for the one hour install he also had to compensate for his initial service call as well as the trip to San Antonio for parts/materials.
I would use him again.

He was prompt, informative, allowed me to ask several questions. Explained all of my options and told me what to expect moving forward. Did not try and up sell me on anything. One of the best services I have ever received.

Because I did not hear from Ellis Enterprises with a bill for services rendered, nor notice of a failed attempt to get into the garage of this rental property, I called and left message for them to call me. When I got a call back a day or so later, I was told that they had been out to the property shortly after my initial call and fixed the small problem immediately and did so at no cost. I was shocked as I fully expected to pay for the service call, at least. However, I am pleasantly surprised to learn that their service was prompt, complete and done without charge.

Very smooth experience. I wish that I had contracted this individual when I replaced my doors originally. I had once worked with an overhead door group and I recognize that there are pirates, yes...pirates employed in this business. I was reluctant to call most of the companies listed and had very low expectations when I contacted this individual. Good stuff.

Their charge was a lot less than what we thought it would be. It was a bonded company. They did really good work. They were really fast about it. We would use them again in the future.

I left a message that was answered within the hour. The company contacted my tenant, made a same day appointment, did the repair and service, emailed me the invoice and called to confirm that the job was complete. This was my first contact with the company and it treated me like a trusted life-long client. Fabulous. And the cost is very reasonable.

Someone was sent to my home the morning I called. The gentleman fixed the problem in no time and serviced the system for$65.00. He encouraged me to use the current garage door opener until it no longer worked. He was efficient and did not pressure me to do anything. He was highly professional and I was most impressed with the promptness of his coming to my house. I can highly recommend Ellis based on today's service. I went ahead and got an estimate for a new system but again, he counseled me to install it when the other dies

His work was well performed. He was also very prompt and helpful in explaining each step of the required applications to the door's mechanisms.

This job was correcting the mistakes of another door company, so it was more costly than I would have liked. The technician explained what was done wrong, and even showed me the incorrect spring that was used previously. I was upset about the cost, and he was patient and spent a great deal of time explaining things. This time the job was done right, and have not had any problems with the garage door since.
