I’m very pleased with the work but the price of cedar is very expensive.

Marbach, who was in his day a home builder, primarily serves as prime contractor using sheet rockers, carpenters, and others whom he has used for 30 years or so. Jobs for me have typically involved unknowns so were not done on a bid or fixed price basis. I have considered his charges to be reasonable and have without exception been pleased with the results. It should be noted that he does not do small handy man type jobs.

I've used Dennis Marbach for four or five major projects over the last three years. He was a home builder but now he is a general contractor. I've had him do really major work. He did all the coordination and basic carpentry, sheetrock and insulation work on a $50,000 kitchen remodel. The kitchen was completely rewired and redone. He has a stable of sub-contractors he's used for 20, 30 years and he doesn't just pick someone off the corner to do work. He is very honest. He is not necessarily the cheapest, but I don't go out for competitive bids at all, I just call Dennis and tell him what I need. The remodel was 30 months ago. We have an exterior hot tub room which was essentially collapsing and he brought in his crew and jacked it up, reframed under it, and fixed it where it wouldn't fall down. The last job was a support for the filter on my swimming pool. Our pool is very interesting: it is on a hillside. At the upper end it is in the dirt, on the lower side you can walk under the deck. So the filter actually sits on a platform that is about 3 feet off the ground. He got his crew out here and they actually lifted the filter, hoisted it up in the air and rebuilt a platform under it and lowered it back down. It was a small job, but you just turn Dennis loose and he does it correctly. I've built a house myself once, so I know a bit. I wired it and plumbed it and did everything myself, so I know a little bit about how to do stuff, and Dennis does stuff very satisfactorily. He is good and does great work. We recommend him to people. You get the quality you pay for, he doesn't skimp.

I had him do four major things here. He did a total kitchen overhaul. He had to do major kitchen re-carpentry in the house. He rebuild my deck and a couple of months ago he did some repairs on the house. He thinks about what he is doing before he does it. He and I discuss what needs to be done and he never takes shortcuts. Some of the things I've had him to do were pretty difficult. The hot tub room was about to fall down and he had to do some very innovative things as he was redoing the supports for that. The last and most recent time he came out he repaired leaking windows on my home.

He was very professional and did an excellent job. I liked his services and will use the same in future.
