When I questioned the gross disparity between his initial drawing / bid and the finished product he said he decided to use larger plants instead of what he initially bid. He then went on to say that he stood behind his work and would replace any plants that died within the first year at no cost. Although I was not happy with the gross disparity between his initial plan and his finished product, he convinced me to enter into a monthly maintenance agreement at $250 per month. Again, I trusted him and, as an absentee homeowner, felt he was best qualified to maintain his own work.
In spite using "larger, healthier plants" for the initial installation and his "monthly maintenance", 9 plants of 23 died.
When I contacted him asking to meet with me to discuss replacing them, he quit returning my texts and calls and I have not heard from him since.
