Written on 7/28/2021 - On his return visit to install the glass cooktop, Justin (the owner of the business) showed up without a mask and when I asked him if he was vaccinated he stated he didn't have to answer that and that's his personal business. I told him I could respect that and asked him to wear a mask. He refused and said he is following the guidelines. He became argumentative as I told him the CDC changed the recommendation last night to even if vaccinated to now wear a mask indoors due to the surge of cases. We live in an area that is marked "high" for the surge. He said he isn't going to wear a mask so I told him it seems we aren't going to be able to work together because I need him to wear a mask if in my home. I offered to give him a mask and he refused. He was rude right off the bat as soon as I inquired about his vaccination status and wearing a mask while in our home. He started filming me and filmed me saying I'm not going to do business with him and then he said he was still going to charge me for another diagnostic fee and I told him I wasn't going to pay that because he's not fixing the stovetop - as promised. He said this was a separate diagnostic and that I told him yesterday about the heating problem. I told him that is not accurate because he brought up the heating concern when he first came out in November 2020 and said it is getting hotter than it should. We communicated about it getting worse throughout the seven months of contact while we were waiting for him to locate the part (which he never did). I texted him and asked him while he's here putting the glass cooktop on (that my husband and I finally located - after 7 mo's of waiting for him to locate it) if he would look at that too at that time. He said yes and never indicated an additional charge. I never agreed to an additional charge.... the agreement was for the original diagnostic fee of $70.36 which was paid in 11/2020 and was to go towards the repair cost, if we used his company to complete the repair. That was the plan. He was pleasant and wore a mask when he first came out in 11/2020, just as his Angie's list add states they will wear a mask and gloves while visiting our home. This time he was rude, argumentative and confrontational. I tried talking to him twice about going ahead and doing the job because we really needed it done and I set aside the 4 hour window 12-4 as per his request. He told me he has me recorded telling him to leave and he doesn't have time to replace the cooktop. He was only coming out to look at the heating element and charge for a new diagnostic fee. Again, that was never disclosed. I told him the whole reason he was coming out today was because we got the part in yesterday and he said he would put it on and while doing that, look to see if there was something wrong with the heating element that he could fix. When he was leaving the house today he told me to check the mail because he is sending me a bill for a separate diagnostic charge. I told him I'm not paying him when he is not doing the service promised and he told me he will sue me. I told him I will report him to the BBB and Angie's list. He threatened me if I reported him and said he recorded our conversations. I have the text messages between us as proof of our discussion and printouts of his add listed on Angi's stating he will wear a mask and gloves while in my home. Now, reading another woman's review on Angi's dated 11-10-2020 about how she also felt threatened by him and she lost her composure with him due to his disrespectfulness and rudeness, etc. in her home too; I regret ever letting him into my home. If only that review was up while we were looking for a service person, we never would have hired him. My neighbor told me that he seemed extremely arrogant as he watched him leave. Angie's list relies on honest reviews and that's where I found him originally so I am giving an honest review of how he treated us as customers. I noticed today on his add listed on Angi's it still states: Covid-19 Update Appliance repair Health & Safety Measures We will wear masks and gloves when we visit your home. Yet, He didn't show up with a mask and refused to wear a mask. He is certainly not welcome in our home ever again! We will find a company that is respectful to us, has high integrity and can do the job that is promised to us.

They were thorough and knowledgeable. They gave an honest quote with good recommendations. They were focused on giving the best directions on what to do for your situation, not just on their potential profit. Definitely would hire them again, if something else breaks.

Called on a Monday morning, Repair professional was out Tuesday to assess the situation. Took him about 15 minutes to diagnose machine and come back with solution. Unfortunately he had to order the part and advised it would be in tomorrow and he would be back between 2-6 on Tuesday. He called on Tuesday, at you guessed it, 2PM and was here an hour later. Fixed the dryer in 15 minutes (I was in a meeting and completely missed his visit, LOL). Great deal -- about $275 total to fix the dryer ($800 to replace with holiday savings....). I would highly recommend having Alamo come out and at least diagnose appliance before running to big box store to replace. I was shocked and thrilled. Thanks Alamo Appliance!!

Donnie is a great guy, a veteran, and this is why this review is not an F. Justin, however, takes the lead on quotes and discussions. If you use this company for new construction appliance installations, make sure you get your quote in writing ahead of the work, and demand Justin let you know about any overages as they occur and not at the end of the project. Also make sure he informs you up front for any materials they provide and charge you for, as well as what items need to be purchased by you. Do not assume that any materials they provide are included in their "quote". When they provide a quote, know it is just an "estimate" and do not make the same mistake we made and believe it was their quote, or even close to their quote. Our experience was not a good one. We were quoted $1425, plus an additional $300 - 400 for brand new Whirlpool appliances installation, an additional potential Whirlpool ventahood install. Justin said taxes and a discount would wash, as Justin said up front that he would provide my husband a 10% discount because he is a retired firefighter. In the end, my husband called me to discuss payment to them, and said they were charging $2300. We were hit with almost $500 more charges, some of which would have been avoided if we were consulted before the work was done, specifically a gas conversion that another sub would do for us at no charge. When I asked if the firefighter discount was applied to the total, Justin said hat since my husband is no longer a firefighter anymore, as he is only retired, Justin was not wanting to give him the discount. Justin ended up giving the discount even though he knew my husband was retired when he offered in the first place. I could have handled myself better over the phone, but between Justin's disrespect to my husband's service in the fire department, our having to go to Home Depot and Lowes several times for items throughout the day because Justin did not identify needed plugs, cords to comply with code in advance of the project, Justin demanding we pay him so he could "get out of there", Justin saying he would not provide us an invoice in writing or soft copy before payment to him, and his threatening to call the police on us, I lost my composure with him throughout the conversation could have handled myself better. Justin was extremely rude, sarcastic, and threatening. Justin threatened to call the police on us, though we never said we would not pay him, only that we were not happy with the surprise charges at the end. Justin reiteratesdover and over that they only provide estimates up front, and in the end the customer pays for the job. The problem is that they don't share additional charges with you until the end. Donnie is the level headed one, and the veteran, and we thank him for his service in the military.
