When the plumber arrived, he insisted there were many other problems with my water heater that was 6-8 years old. His recommendation was to replace the unit for $2300. When I explained that our budget couldn’t cover replacement, he provided a quote for $1300 that included flushing, replacing valves/connectors, and rods. He insisted that flushing would not fix the problem. We paid the trip fee of $70 and sent him away. My husband took off from work that afternoon and ran the hot water in a faucet for a while ... the smell is gone. I’m not able to evaluate the quality of Priority Plumbing work but I would not recommend them based on this experience.
Description of Work: We had a rotten egg smell coming from the hot water heater. The hot water was not used for several months following Hurricane Harvey and wanted it flushed (even though I read this can be a DIY effort). I was quoted a fee of $300 to flush the water heater and I asked to have the plumber sent out. (Note - another plumber quoted roughly the same price to flush it)
