Really bad. Did not show up most of the time. Would not call. It was very aggravating trying to get him work and finish.

We had a few projects that needed to be completed, such as some siding repairs and rebuilding an outdoor deck staircase. I bought the big deal offered through Angie's List for a week of general contracting for $1,350.
Communication with Brian was easy and responsive in the weeks after we bought the deal last fall, but I wasn't quite ready to start work on the projects yet due to some other funding issues, so I told him I'd get back in touch with him in a month or two. No problem.
I tried calling Brian a few times in the spring and that is where the problems began. No response to my phone calls, so I emailed him back through Angies list. Almost a week later he finally calls and says he can stop by the next day, probably after lunch and that he'd call when he was on his way so I take the day off and wait for his call. Nothing! Call him several times in the afternoon and nothing!
I've since had the projects completed by another contractor not on Angie's List. Unfortunately it's past the 30 day refund guarantee window so I can't get my $1,350 back, but I guess I'll just chalk it up to an expensive lesson. If you buy a big deal offered by Evan's Construction, be sure to act quickly so you can get your money back if/when he stands you up.
I'm done with Evan's Construction and probably this service too.

Fixing someone else's work is always the worst job a contractor can take but Mr. Evans took the job on. All of the work was done outside and it was during a time where it rained every day. I knew that he had taken the job thinking he could finish it within 5 days and scheduled the work as so. Because of the rains it took him almost a month to finish the job. It was no fault of his that it took so long and I admire him for sticking with it and not only finishing the job but doing a wonderful job with it. He designed all of the Trellis work himself and it is beautiful. He built a custom gate for a fenced in section of the yard and that was also first class. He hung some antique doors from India on our fence and like everything else he did a first class job. He is a very conscientious and honest man and we feel blessed that we found him. I think some of the problems the other people had were caused by all the rains we have had that played havoc with his schedule. We are  going to use him again to fix the roof on our deck (also done by another contractor on Angies List). Again we found him to be a very conscientious and honest man and enjoyed working with him and were very pleased with the work he did.

"Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for this sterling review. You lifted my spirits so very much. I have tried so hard to make everyone please with the work I do. I wish they were all as understanding as you have been. It was a great pleasure working for you. Your beautiful garden was inspirational for me to come up with the ideas for the project. Thank you again."

It was a deal of $1350 for a general contractor for a week. He was impossible to reach after I bought the deal. It took over a month to get a call back and get scheduled. the work was being done on an empty rent house so I really wanted it completed quickly so I could get it rented again. When he met with me to go over my list he initially said everything could be completed in the week I had already purchased except the paint. I had had a paint contractor come out already and bid that and was going to have them do that job but Brian sounded knowledgeable and offered a fair price ($100 more that them) and he was already going to be there so I let him have that too in addition to the work I originally planned for him to do.

That is when the trouble began.  Brian did not show up for the job but sent someone who worked for him. They started with the siding and then prepping for the paint. That took a week. After looking at the work done so far I called Brian and asked him to come look at it as I was not happy. A couple weeks later after missed appointments, no call backs etc. he did finally met with me. He agreed that the work would have to be redone but he had every excuse in the world as to when it would happen. A couple more weeks later Brian came to do the work himself. He did a very good job on everything that he completed himself and he was very personable at that point. He asked me for a good review and I said that since he had made the work right that I would give him one. He just needed to come back one more time to finish up the last bit, a ceiling repair in the garage that was part of the damage from the leaking roof.  He never came back. And never responded to a single call after that. He had gotten his final draw from me that day and had promised he would return... I shouldn't have given him the last of the money before he was done but I thought he truly wanted to make things right, especially after he brought up me giving him a good review. Lesson learned.  I had to pay another contractor to come finish so I could get the house rented.

If you are  not in a hurry to get your job done and you don't mind babysitting him to make sure he does what he says, Brian does very good work. When he  shows up.

6/30/15. RESPONSE TO BRIANS RESPONSE:
I feel that I gave the best most accurate review possible. If you had returned to complete the last of the work I would have been willing to leave a completely positive review, but you did not. If you did return to do the work (which I doubt) and the tenant was not there then you should have contacted me. Heck, you should have contacted me to set up a time for she or I to be there anyway! The bottom line is that it was not a happy experience. I did not mention before but will now that the siding repairs have not held up. Every piece that was replaced has warped, cracked or buckled from the rain we got this spring. None of the old existing siding has done that so I don't know what kind of material you used but I am not happy with it. As far as my boyfriend and I being gone for a month... that's ridiculous.
Response from

"[member name removed] in the beginning when we first met, I was busy and set a time to schedule you in. If you remember you and your boyfriend went out of town for well over a month. We had no access to the house. Once you came back into town I moved some of my clients around to accommodate you. I had full crews working on your rental property. Yes I did have a problem with the men who I sent out first to paint the interior of your rental. I did bring a new crew out and paid them to fix the problem and make things right with you. Which I felt we had made right with you. I personally worked there all the way up to the final day when your new tenant moved in. I hauled away a trailer full of junk from that house, at no charge to you. I did everything you wanted and then some to make up for the time lost by the first crew. You told me your self you were very pleased with all of the work done for you, plus that you would give me a Good Review. That was one the last day when your tenant was moving in. I did try and get over there to fix that sheet rock in the garage. But each time nobody was there to let me in. This was over nine months ago. After trying so man times I ended up busy with other jobs. I never did get any calls from you. I would have taken care of the items left. I will still honor our agreement and fix the sheet rock. I am sorry you had to resort to this bad review. I did 97% of your work at 100% satisfaction. but get an F for not finishing that one small repair. I went way above and beyond to satisfy you in what we did finish. You paid me the last amount owed on that final day. You told me your self that you would give me a good review on that final day."

We had a job of renovating the master bathroom. David Evans was very accommodating and went like gang busters for a week. It dragged on for 4 months. Tile was badly done and had to be redone more then once The plumbing in the tub was leaking at the drain and the faucets. As a result the cement board behind the tub got wet, and is now moldy. The vanity was not properly installed. The front legs are not touching. The issues just kept building. When have tried to contact him multiple times, and never got a response.
We finally hired a different contractor to finish the work. The new one requests that no money be paid until the job is done. Dave Evans required a large portion up front. I can not recommend the work done by Evans Construction Services.

Also within a year the shower started leaking and the entire shower and floor might have to be redone

He was difficult to reach.  Virtually no on site supervision.  Took draws and didn't do the work.  In the end, it cost us nearly $15,000 due to have to have all of his work redone.

Came out to survey the project, promptly. Was a little slow to get back with an estimate. And after agreeing on a contract price of $1945, I paid $850 down to start the project. Things looked like they were going to go well. He showed up on the next Saturday, unannounced, with hi polite young son(10-12yo) in tow. So when I asked what he was doing there, as he was supposed to start Monday, he said he was just doing a double check for materials and that this job should be able to be completed very quickly because it was unoccupied, enabling him to come early and stay late with out worrying about occupants. Great!!!! I thought.... I go to work around 7:30 in the morning, he was never there when I went to work. I get home from work around 4:30 in the evening, he was there one time over a week and a half. I questioned him about the slow pace things weren't getting done, got the usual contractor response, "Well I had a couple other jobs that needed my attention", though the reason I hired him was that he had just finished two jobs and was able to dedicate himself to this job. I was unhappy with the quality of some things he had done up to that point. But then he installed the bathroom vent and cut a hole significantly larger than the faceplate would cover, I don't know what he was thinking, but I terminated him the next morning. He had "completed???" roughly $650 of the project to that point, so I agreed to let him keep the other $200 from the down payment in order to get him to sign a PAID IN FULL agreement. All I can say is Mr. Brian Evans does POOR quality work, what work was actually done.

"This review comes as a complete surprise me. This job took place last summer, Quit frankly I feel like a scape goat in this. Will lets start with your comment on being stretched too thin. Yes I had other jobs going when I started yours. When I started your job I made sure to be there myself each and every day. I had any where from two to as many as four men working there, every day. I would show up and line them out for the day. I also had a lead man who kept things going. I was not always able to stay all day. In fact I was doing many projects with people who signed up for me to do work on their homes. This was done through Angie's List. Which I shared that with you. Next I would like to point out that after my men had done all of the heavy lifting of the project which we had a contract on. You decided to bring in a new contractor to install a concrete slab for your new patio. You asked me to work with the new guy. I agreed. Problem was, he more doubled the size of the project, but he also talked you into letting him do all of the patio project. At this point I had done the work I contracted with you for, not to mention a lot of extra work your "New" contractor caused. I did this work out of my pocket, plus paid my men those last few weeks out of my pocket. I know your wife had gotten sick, so I did everything I could to help you. If anything, it was your call to bring in the new contractor, his men made the miss on your neighbors property, he doubled the size of it. That is when I said I had enough. I told you from the very beginning I do not do concrete work. I felt my method of installing the patio would have been fine. You decided to let this other guy take over. You did not have to hire me if you wanted to have a concrete base. Then to bring this new guy in when we were ready to start installing the patio, That was an insult to me. Not to mention your neighbor constantly talking like she was some kind of expert. I have 30 years in this business, I do not know of any contractor who likes having the home owner bring in another contractor to do his work and expect them to work with the new guy. I did nothing wrong here, If it dragged out then it is you and the new guy, not me."

Slow, shoddy jobs, unfinished project in some cases
Response from

"This is another compliant which I am surprised at. I was called to look at two downstairs bedrooms which had some mold growing on the walls. The owner was worried that there may be mold growing in the walls. I gave the owned a bid to remove the sheetrock and to take care of any of the mold inside the walls. Then install new dry wall, tape float and texture, plus paint. To me that was going to be a simple quick job. But once we opened these walls. not only did we find a lot of mold. but active termites as well. There was so much damage that we had to jack up his house to install new lumber for his walls. Keep in mind this is a three story house. Then we found that there was an existing flooding problem due in part to the golf course he lives on and his neighbors retaining wall diverting a lot of water into his house. This was just the beginning of a mess which took a long time to fix. So many extras that I literally gave up on keeping track of. To a point I have not made any money on this job at all. I have worked so hard to help this man get his house in order. All of the trips and paperwork to the POA. There is not enough room here to list all that I have done on this house. I will tell you this $35K is a real bargain to the $50K it should have cost. I am still working on this house, out of my pocket doing work that was never on my bid."

"Dear [member name removed], I understand your frustration, as a contractor I pride myself on making all of my appointments. This is one area as a contractor I was always concerned with, especially when I go out on an appointment and hear over and over again how other contractors never showed up. After we had spoke and made arrangements to meet. I was involved in a serious car accident.I was rear ended by two pick up trucks. this resulted in me having to go to Houston VA hospital to get my back and neck checked out. I ended up staying for almost three days.Once I got home I came down with some kind of virus which kept me in bed for two more days. I truly am sorry for missing our appointment. I missed several of them on account of this accident. Not to mention the jobs I had in progress suffered too because I was unable to be there. I know first hand your frustration and again I would like to make it up to you. Thank You Brian D. Evans Evans Construction Services LLC"

Mr Evans came to my home, told me what they would do. They contacted me and said they would do the work and a few extra plumbing issues I needed done. Then he contacted me and said it was raining and he was behind on work. He stated the work would be done that week(two weeks ago). I have had no contact with him in two weeks. I sent an email yesterday with no response. Maybe the company is too big to handle this job. Just give my money back and I will find someone.

"Dear [Removed name], I understand your frustration in my not being able to get to your job. I did in fact reschedule your job two different times. The first reason was a job we had been working on had gone into extra time because the homeowner had added a lot of extra work onto the existing contract. The second reason, the morning I was going to your house to start, I was involved in a serious car accident. I was rear ended by two pick up trucks on the 105 and FM 2854 at 7:20 in the morning. This accident resulted in having to spend nearly three days in the VA Hospital in Houston, with back and head injuries. I have two hair line cracks on two vertebrates and a massive headache. On top of this I was down for a few days with some kind of virus. [Removed name], you were very nice to me when I came by to meet with you the first time. I wanted more than any other job to be there and help you fix up your home. I am very sorry to have let you down. Thank You Brian D. Evans Evans Construction Services LLC"
