I have done business with IOE for almost a decade and as I had them do more projects the more frustrated I became. It was a different and much better company under the original owner Bret. Since Cory has taken over, all he does is make the sell and send you the bill. When I have an issue, it will take him over a week to respond. In a recent project I hired IOE for was to replace my fence. The installers used too long of nails which came through on the neighbors side. My neighbor shared his concern for safety and when I contacted Cory, it took him 3 days to respond and longer than a week to resolve. I don't know if they have gotten too busy but when you spend money you expect them to respond especially when it is regarding safety. If you hire IOE here is what you can expect: expensive cost, long/poor response times and a laundry list of excuses from Cory. I would not recommend.

First, Bret is smart, organized, knowledgeable. Quotes were reasonable. Work was started ahead of schedule. His crew was outstanding. Had an early bump in the road when they hit a water line (I don't put much blame on them for that, the pool company put it less than 5in from surface and Bret owned the error. The landscaping was great. Two significant issues arose after the work was completed. The first was that the drainage they put in wasn't draining. The first time, Bret was great, came back out, dug it up, cleaned the rocks etc. Then after the next rain, same problem. Second return was a bit more delayed. After a couple call backs the responsiveness dropped. Initially this was explained as a staffing problem. On the last trip, a response was promised within a day by the guy he sent out. No response. At that point, my yard was flooding at every rain. I finally hired another company, had all the drains dug back up. The problem appeared to not only be dirt getting into the lines but also that at a critical juncture right before they tied into existing drains, the lines starting going uphill. I don't doubt Bret when he explained that he had done this hundreds of time and this was the first yard it didn't work (in reference to the dirt in the lines). He's an honest guy and his guys work hard. But in this case, it failed and cost me more time, money, and enjoyment in the new yard. The going uphill part is harder to justify. Cost me another $7000 for the second company to dig out the drains and redo them and redo the sod/landscaping that didn't survive the flood. The second issue is really a warning to folks who have dogs who tend to eat things in the yard. I specifically asked that no plants toxic to dogs be used. Yet lantana was put in. While it won't kill an animal, it can and does induce seizure among other issues - which I found out after the dog ate it. So I would recommend anyone who shares such concerns be much more specific about requesting details related to all of the specific plants and double checking the plants with the aspca list before having them installed. So my review is very mixed. Smart guy, great crew, skilled at landscape design but the drainage for me was a fail.

once my project was finally scheduled, the work went quick. Crew was professional and well mannered.

They did an excellent job, choosing plants for my shady front yard and sunny back yard. They brought enough men to complete all the above jobs in one day. I would definitely hire them again, and would recommend them!

They worked with me to develop the right solution. They also came back to respond to questions and make adjustments at no charge.

Let me provide some backstory. Our previous homeowner preferred the "natural" look. That is all well if you do the upkeep and have a green thumb. I don't have the green thumb and the upkeep appeared to have waived "goodbye" years before we bought the house. So, in late July we called Bret to come take a look at our backyard. He made a house visit, listened to our requests, and was able to make some suggestions for us. It was very helpful of him to list the items line by line so my wife and I could differentiate between long-term wants and what was do-able for our budget. Now, I am often times indecisive when it comes to committing to projects such as these, but Bret took several calls after that visit to discuss other options. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable with giving Bret my business, but our real satisfaction came once the job began. Bret and his team were on-site when promised, courteous, and communicated with me throughout the job. I never felt like I had to clean up after them or felt there were any surprises. We were so pleased that we just had him come back out to do some work in the front yard as well. With Bret, he tells it like it is and delivers on his work. We didn't get to all of our wish-list items, but rest-assured, when we do, I will be calling InsideOut.

Bret was very professional from the outset and patient as we worked our way through the various options before finally deciding on the scope of the project. Cory and the team showed up bright and early on the day of the job and got down to it. They were courteous and professional throughout, leaving no doubt the work would be completed as expected. I would recommend InsideOut Environments to anyone looking for a professional crew that stands by their work.

They Extended my patio to my liking that included brining in more pavers. Then painted the pavers to a color I preferred by using both old and new pavers. I am very satisfied with all the work that was done. A bit pricey but for what they did it was well worth the price. They arranged to have all the debris hauled away too. I will be using them again next year for another project in the front yard. I can't say enough about Bret and Cory, so professional always on top of responding to my phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. Such a great experience with them both.

Disclaimer ?this is rather a long post but the service was so amazing, I didn?t want to leave anything out.
After moving into our home in 2014, we have been struggling with the grass and conditions to the front of our yard.  We have four gorgeous oak trees, which while keeping our house and street shaded, they make keeping the grass looking good challenging. We certainly didn?t want to have to remove these beauties.  With no sprinkler system also, it has been difficult keeping the grass, or what grass there was, looking good.
After researching several companies, I was immediately drawn to InsideOut Environments. They had constant great feedback and the photos of the work that they have done looked outstanding.  I also liked the fact that everyone said that both Bret and Cory were always hands on with the projects ? that is important to me.  In the past we have had different types of work done, whereby you meet the person that comes to give you the quote and talk it through and then when the work comes to be done you never see them again which sadly has always resulted in the wrong work or inconsistencies  being made.This is NOT the case with InsideOut. 
I sent an initial email inquiry on a Sunday morning and within 10 minutes I had a reply from Bret saying that himself or his partner Cory would be in touch the following day.  They were true to their word and Cory called me Monday morning and came over to the house that same afternoon.  He listened to all of my concerns and gave me different options to best deal with our particular situation.  He was awesome and the next day, I received the quote.  It was a little more than another quote we had got, but I knew that I wanted the work done by Cory and his team.  I felt confident they would do the best job.  Before we got the work done, I had many questions that popped up and Cory was always so helpful and willing to answer all of them. 
The day of the work came and the crew arrived bang on time along with Cory and Bret, it was so refreshing for both of the owners to be there to talk through everything again ? they really do care about every job they do!  When we got back the first night (as they had previously warned us) the front and back yard looked pretty messy due to the digging that is required to install the sprinkler system.  Cory rang that night to check in with us and see that everything was in order, nice touch.
The next day, the crew again arrived on time and Cory talked through the progress and the day ahead.  I could tell that Cory read that my husband had some concerns about the installation to the meter in the garage (in that he is quite particular with things being in their place). Cory installed the controller himself, and made sure that anything that had to be moved for the installation was put back in the same place, infact it really was hard to believe the extend of the job as on completion everything looked just perfect and magical ? thanks Cory J).
On the day of completion, Cory called to say that the job would be finished around 4 on the second day.  We couldn?t manage to get back until near five and he waited for our arrival and talked through everything in detail.  We were actually speechless (which doesn?t happened often to me, as you can tell by this review!) with how completely and utterly amazing everything looked.  The transformation was unbelievable. 
I can honestly say this is the best experience I have ever had from start to finish ? from customer care, quality of work/parts and awesome people!  I always get nervous when having jobs done around the house, but this was not the case with this company. They are truly awesome!  Thank you guys so much!

I needed a complete cleanup of my large front and back yard. I am on a corner lot so I knew it would be costly. At first I was skeptical of the large price tag (I never had a project like this done before) but once I saw this company work, I knew I actually got a deal. Bret's team was awesome. They arrived first thing in the morning on the determined date. Bret was there, overseeing everything personally for the first few hours. The rest of the team stayed all day. They were all friendly and polite, letting me know that I should tell them if I wanted anything done while they were working. They went above and beyond - two of them spent a majority of the day working a (neighbor's) grapevine out of three of my trees which it had completely taken over. They were relentless and when another company would have given up and probably told me to call in a tree service, they stayed dedicated to the project until every piece of that vine was removed. They moved quickly and efficiently and made sure to get my approval on everything from beginning to end. I have never met such a professional and personable group of workers as Bret's team. As a side note, I originally commissioned Bret for a full remodel of the landscaping in the back yard. Unfortunately unforeseen circumstances forced me to cancel that very large job. Bret was extremely understanding and did not at all hold it against me when we scheduled this new cleanup. I am going to be saving every penny I have so that I can have them come back again soon to do that full landscape design as soon as possible. It was such a relief to work with a company that actually followed through with their commitments promptly, professionally, and as promised. Thanks again guys!

The entire process was easy with IOE.  They were responsive and punctual and did an absolutely beautiful, meticulous job on our back yard.  I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a job done well with honesty and integrity.  Very easy to work with and executed exactly as I had pictured it.

Our back yard St. Augustine was suffering greatly due to the maturing of several oak tress.  After trying several "low-light" alternatives to no affect, we decided to install artificial grass.  We obtained quotes from several companies.  IOE was not the least expensive, but we selected them based on their patience in answering all our questions and their support in getting the project approved by our homeowner association. 

Brett was very patient and professional throughout.  His initial scheduling was impacted due to the excessive rains we experienced in May, but he continually kept us included in his rescheduling plans and we were never concerned about the priority he was giving us.  Once the crew arrived, as rescheduled, they worked long hours to get the job completed in a timely manner.  The installation of the artificial grass was complicated because of a significant French drain, and Brett tried several approaches before finding the best solution.  Further the seams between the sections of artificial grass did not meet our satisfaction and Brett came back several times to get them right.

In addition to the artificial grass, the lawn sprinklers were removed and re-piped to provide an emitter system with greatly flexibility for the shrubs and flower beds.  The beds themselves were re-contoured and rock bordered.  Plants were added as recommended by Brett and the back yard was generally re-landscaped.

The back yard now looks great and we are very pleased with the outcome.

I can't say enough GREAT things about the service Cory with Inside Our provided.  I had three estimates for the work I wanted done in my back and front yard.  He was the middle estimate, which I felt safe about.  He understood my drainage issues immediately (others did not and I had to explain the issues).  He walked through every aspect of the work and repeatedly wanted to make sure I was happy with every decision made.  He gently steered me into the right decisions (this artificial grass lays really high and will collect leaves, but if you want it.... we want you to be happy).  Cory and his team went above and beyond to make my backyard PERFECT. I really couldn't be happier.  I'm a lawyer, very meticulous and hard to please.  Cory managed the entire team efficiently and checked in daily to make sure I was happy with everything each night I came home to check the progress.  He went to 4 different providers to find the perfect pots--- just because HE wasn't happy with the first one (minor crack that he wasn't ok with).  He was driving around town sending me pictures of pots for the plants and wasn't frustrated at all when I kept changing my mind or couldn't decide. 

Again, I have installed landscaping, I have installed a pool, and I have built a house.  Cory and Inside Out was the MOST professional, BEST contractor I have hired--HANDS Down. 

They are busy and you may have to wait to get the work done.  But IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!

As always, Inside Out did an outstanding job.  Bret and his crew are punctual and do exactly as promised.  Actually, they always exceed expectations and will always hire InsideOut for all of my outside needs.  The plants and shrubs look great, trimmed as wanted.  The yard looks fantastic.  Thanks Bret for everything.  I look forward to working with you again.

Cory and the crew arrived at the designated time and worked tirelessly to get the entire job in a day.  There was a lot of work and a team of 4 men put in a long day.  All went well!

I interviewed 3 contractors from Angie's list. Bret's pricing was just a bit more than the others, but, his attitude won me over. He was consistently on board with my design ( that is not the standard) and was thoughtful of my overriding concern: I have 2 100+ year old oak tress in my back yard that need to be worked around with exceptional care.

Because the trees cannot have digging near or disruption to the natural absorption of rainfall he had to be creative in how to provide what I wanted: a Stonecreek paver and grass layout. He guided me through my design giving professional insight of how to lay the pavers over a special rubberized base and convinced me to consider artificial turf (instead of the drawf mondo grass I was considering) .  I am happy I trusted his advice.

For the site drainage and catch basins he had a solution of hiding one (that would have otherwise been the most prominent feature in the paved area) under the paving stones. It is working perfectly.

He also recently coordinated the pick up, delivery, and installation of 5 very large Slender Silhouette sweet gum trees.

My project was complicated and needed tweaking to get it right for me and Bret and his team were gracious throughout the entire process.

I am happy to have InsideOut Environments work with me as my trusted source for landscaping.

Working with Bret from design through completion of the project was an absolute pleasure!  He was always available to answer questions, provide references/pictures and suggestions and continued to work with me to finalize the design. Once the timing was set, he and the crew arrived on time and kept me up to date on the plan/schedule and when on-site tweaked the design as needed to meet not only his high standards but my input as well.  The project, which was extensive in my opinion, was completed within 2 days.
If you want a professional who is also a nice person that does quality landscaping work and goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied, then Bret is the man!  I can't say enough about his service and customer focus.  I highly recommend him and will use him again.
