Spartan Construction and Roofing

I am very sad to have to write this review. The owner Louis was extremely helpful and showed up on time for his appointment which is a first for contractors. He was supposed to come and epoxy my tile in the bathroom and paint my walls. We agreed on a set price and I paid half down to cover expenses and get started right away. It took them a few days to get started as they had some issues and I was flexible and OK with us. Then they started doing the epoxy to my bathroom and found out they have been giving the wrong information from Sherwin-Williams. They found out that they had to strip the paint off that they had put on because it was done incorrectly and would have to redo the whole process. Long story short the new epoxy didn't work either. So I waited over two weeks to only have my bathroom look in worse shape than when it started. It took him three days of epoxy removal and I know that that is a lot of work but it still has epoxy in some places and doesn't look nice. They did paint the bathroom which was already agreed-upon. When it came time to wrap the project up I asked what we were going to do about the money that I had paid down that I didn't get the work done. He informed me that due to all of the extra work that they did to remove the wrong epoxy that he didn't have any money to give me back. At the end of the day all I got was a painted bathroom that I paid 3x as much for and didn't get the work done that I wanted. So again like I said at the beginning I'm very sad to have to write such a terrible review for them but at the end of the day they didn't know what they were doing and I was the one that was supposed to pay for their mistake. I would not recommend them unless you are allowed to wait to pay them till the end when they actually finish the project.

Had to watch them like a hawk. All subs had to return for corrections to initial effort. Never could call and let me know they were coming. Just showed up.

Work was all done very efficiently at price estimated.

We didn't get to use Spartan due to the reason above, but they were very professional and responsive on getting us the quote.

The Sales person who first contacted us about having the roof replaced showed up on time, spent time going over the damage to the roof and answered our questions. After we had agreed to go with Spartan and signed the contract, that Sales person left the company, so our "job" was given to another person in the company. I learned this after calling repeatedly trying to find out when they would be coming out to replace the roof. I finally reached the owner and he said the new person assigned to our job would call us. He never called. I called the office again and was finally told when the job would be done. We had discussed several things with the first sales person that I wanted to make sure were conveyed to the new person (such as the type and color of shingle we wanted and they were supposed to check to see if there was additional damage to the gutters), but I had to keep going over these things with each person I spoke to at Spartan and they did not seem to care about our concerns. After waiting about 2 months from the time we signed the contract until the roof was actually replaced, the job they did was fine, but my calls and email regarding the gutters were never returned. When I would finally reach someone on the phone, they seemed annoyed, did not have the time to take my call or care about our job. I would not recommend this company based on the lack of communication and lack of concern for the individual's job.
