We had windows replaced throughout our whole house. Rick (owner) and his crew did and excellent job. We couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Hawkeye Home Improvement.

Rick is exceptional in all aspects of his craft. I was referred to him by another company as they did not do vinyl siding. He was highly recommended. He did not disappoint. He came out to evaluate and provide me an estimate. Initially I wanted just siding, but decided to move forward with windows as the house is very old and the windows were deteriorating. He spent time walking me through the options and benefits, and did a thorough assessment of the home. This job required me to refinance my home, so it took some time before i was ready to proceed. During that time, I was never pressured. He just checked in periodically. Once the job started, I was impressed with both the window and siding crews. These teams have worked with him for sometime, and they were professional and skilled. The window count for my home is over 50. In addition to installing windows, I had a couple taken out and they framed and closed up the sections. Since the house is old, there was significant repair that was done, rather than just covering over it. The attention to detail and quality was impeccable. This job took about a month from start to finish, and I really got to know him as well as his team. He also installed French Doors where I had previously had sliding glass doors. When the door I purchased did not fit, he quickly ordered a custom door. He also had a team come out and do full gutters on the house. 43 The end result was exceptional, and I know that if I have any problems he will stand behind the work that he does. I can't say enough about Hawkeye Home Improvement and Rick. I will definitely use him for future projects.

Hawkeye Home Improvements is the best company you could possibly use, They built a fabulous sun porch for me and I couldn't be happier. Rick, the owner of the company is great. He is always checking on how the job is going and is hands on when needed. His crew that put up the porch is spot on. I met Rick in 2015 when he installed siding on my house and also replaced all of my windows and front door.. That's when I knew if I were to have more projects done on my house I would call him. Every thing he does is great and he always double checks to make sure it is done properly. My heating bills have also been reduced since I had the new windows installed. If you want someone who can do the job and is reliable, I would suggest you contact him. Love the new sun porch!!

In August. 2016 I met the most professional, courteous, caring home improvement/repair man I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Rick Lipsius, owner of Hawkeye Home Improvement, Inc, and his crews are truly awesome. They really strive to please their customer at all times. Rick's estimates are very fair and reasonable. I obtained several estimates for my home improvement job of replacing vinyl siding and replacing all windows in my home and his estimate was very reasonable. Rick and his workers show up on time and Rick stays on top of the job until it is done. He is meticulous with his work and does not stop until it is perfect. He did some extra carpenter work for me making foundation access doors and an attic door for me and they are beautifully done. His installation of a new front storm door was also done very well. My home looks like a new house now and I am so proud of it. Rick and his workers explain what they are doing and why and never seem to tire of answering the customer's questions. They do an excellent job of cleaning up all materials after the job is done. The homeowner does not have to clean anything up. I highly recommend Hawkeye Home Improvement, Inc. for any of your home improvements/repairs and will use this company for any future jobs I might have.

Awesome work by Rick and his crews. The fit and finish are superb. Rick does it right and is very experienced so he canndeal with any problems. He has long time helpers who he trusts to do it to his high standards but Rick also does a lot of the work. The materials are also high quality. He planned for doing it all and that was included in his price so no nickel and dime add ons to up the price. He understimated the siding needed and had to buy another box and I was not charged. He left the rest of the box in case repairs are needed..Written warranty. He upgraded my lights on the porch, what we had didnt work with the new siding. He only charged materials as he wanted it to look right, and it did. He worked with me on the timing as we had orginally planned for an earlier start. He cleaned up 100%, you couldnt tell he had been working here for almost two weeks. Overall I dont think it is possible to do it better.

Hawkeye are honest, reliable, and professional.  I would  refer them to anyone needing siding, gutter and roofing.  Always on time, and the owner is onsite working also.

The owner of Hawkeye Home Improvment (Rick Lipsius) responded the same day to my on line request for a quote through Angie's List. An appointment was made at a time convenient to me and Rick showed up promptly as scheduled. Rick evaluated the condition of the property and listened to what we were hoping to accomplish. He had samples of his product with him and provided us with a quote on the sidding that same day. He also provided information on exterior doors that I could take a look at at my convenience. Rick answered all questions and was very personable and very good at being a listener. While he made suggestions as to the products or procedures he would recommend, he was never in any way a high pressure salesman. I spent a week looking at doors and obtaining additional bids. I found Rick's bid to be very competative and more importantly found him to be very responsive to answering any questions and/or concerns I had. I decided to contract with Hawkeye Home improvement and a start date was set. Due to an illness in Rick's family he had to delay the start by one day but communicated this delay to me and was very apologetic. From this point forward the project was very, very smooth from our perspective. He arrive as scheduled each day, made solid progress as planned each day and cleaned up from his work before leaving. When the project was finished it looked even better than I had hoped for. The product itself is excellent, the installation work quality superior and all debris and work materials were hauled away. Rick is a true gentleman and, from everything I can tell, a skilled craftsman. I will use him again with any project I can and would recommend him without hesitation. I have had complements from neighbors on the work to our home and have recommended Hawkeye Home Improvement to them.

Rick is the best person to do business with, and his work is just perfect as can be. He works with you and he really wants to achieve your goals.

Very professionally done. The owner participated in the window installation and made sure everything was done properly. They were prompt and made sure we knew what was being done and how long it would take. Everything used was quality products. Each work area was cleaned after completion; great guarantee, came back and touched up as requested. Several friends neighbors, and family members have complimented the work done. It did make a big difference in the appearance of the house and the windows make each room more comfortable and quieter, not to mention the difference in the filtered light (3E).  Hope to enjoy this for a long time to come.

Rick was a pro when it came to helping me pick out my windows, doors and siding. He would make suggestions as far as color and style. I would look at all possibilities and he was always right. My house looks fabulous. All the neighbors commented on how great the and quot;faceliftand quot; looked. Rick is a very honest, trustworthy and hard working person. If and when I need something else done, he would be the only one I would call.

Rick did an excellent job, The Windows Look Great !!! I always give his name to anyone in need of replacement Windows !!! He first replaced the back windows and we were so pleased with them we had him do all the windows on the front !!!

Rick and his crew did excellent work. They were there on time every day and were very professional. Rick explained everything to us and he was very meticulous with all of his work. The owner, Rick Lipsius, performed the work. Rick and his helper were very professional, they completed the work during the dates we agreed to, and did a good job cleaning up each day and when the job was complete. The quality of the materials and the work were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Hawkeye Home Improvement again, or to recommend them to anyone needing vinyl siding.

Ten tall, narrow windows in the breakfast room were original to the house (over 30 years old) replaced with double pane, gas filled, low-e coated, energy efficient picture windows. Windows look beautiful and are very helpful keeping the hot weather outside. Installation was efficient and well done. Very nice crew to work with. The owner of the business works alongside and was present at all phases of the work.
2 sets of french doors replaced with energy efficient sliding glass doors. We are very happy with the way the doors have changed the look of the room and they are much more energy efficient. The only problem is that the doors were custom ordered with a bronze exterior and decorative lights in one of the doors. The manufacturer made a mistake with the first order and did not install the decorative lights. The solution offered by the manufacturer was to send the door back and they would take it apart to install the lights. We did not want it to be retro-fitted with the lights so, instead we purchased another door and used this door in another location. Unfortunately the manufacturer made another mistake in the replacement door and installed the lights upside down and they had to take it apart to correct this. This door has had problems with the bronze exterior paint chipping and peeling off, which the manufacturer has come out to touch up. It has problems with the bronze paint that the other door (that was not taken apart) does not have. None of this reflects on Hawkeye Home Improvement, they did a beautiful job on the installation and did their best to work the the manufacturer on solving this problem.
I will use Hawkeye again as I replace the windows in my house. I probably will not use the same door and window manufacturer again.

Rick Lipsius and his crew were on time every day. They were professional and courteous. Rick took the same care and attention to detail that he would on his own house. He did an amazing job on our house and we cannot say enough good things. Excellent job!!
