Fred Webb Remodeling has not completed agreed work on remodeling kitchen and bathrooms. Tile work is very bad had to hire another contractor to redo master shower, shower pan would leak($$$). Complained about interior walls, ceiling, base board and the painting subcontractor's poor performance painting cabinets and had trash in finish, this has been over twelve weeks and still not resolved. Fred Webb Remodeling has not completed 50% of punch list and/or any attempts to resolve issues. This contractor does not have regular subcontractors and does not understand the aesthetic of remodeling finish work. Fred Webb has not responded to all attempts for correcting poor workmanship.

Mr. Fred Webb was hired to construct a metal shop that was 60' x 40' with 12' walls.  He promised to complete the project by July 31, 2015, and never completed the project.  He promised that he would be a working supervisor on a daily basis for the project, but that has turned out not to be true.  He sub everything out without checking the sub's work.  He neglected  the project for several weeks and did not show up at the project. After several calls and text messages he finally showed up for the pouring of the slab. The foundation was not prepared properly.  The slab is not even. He resisted the City's requirement that he had to add a grade beam in the middle of the slab. He placed too much dirt on the foundation form.  The extra height is causing trouble exiting the rear door of the building.  Much of his work is incomplete.  He did not complete the work for the price that he had represented, and have requested that we pay extra for work that should have been part of the original contract price. He would request for additional payment and show us receipt for only items that have gone over the contract price but refused to show all the other receipts.  When we asked for all receipts related to the project, he refused and demanded for final payment or else he will not come back to finish the project.  We told him final payment will not be made until all works are completed to our satisfactory.  He refused to come back to finish the project.  His excuse was that he fear we will not pay him.  We sent him a letter offering to put the final payment in an escrow ensuring he will get paid once work is done and satisfied.  He never responded.  We end up having to get another contractor to finish up the project and correct the mess that he created.
Don't fall for the Mr. Nice Professional Guy "bringing pride back into building".  He may be nice in appearance but no way is he a professional.

UPDATE 2-12-16

This is an update to the review done on 9/28/2015: Mr. Fred Webb decided that despite his unfinished work and poor quality workmanship, he was still owe and entitled to the remaining balance of the job and took us to small claims court.  We went to court on 12/28/2015.  After all the evidence were presented (a binder full of pictures with his poor workmanship) along with testimony from the new contractor who we paid to correct/finished the project, the judge rule in our favor with judgement against Mr. Fred Webb having to pay for our attorney's fee.  We still have not received judgement payment from Mr. Fred Webb as of this date.  If you don't want to be taken to court for his poor workmanship and his sense of entitlement for works he didn't finish, STAY AWAY from this man.

Mr. Webb was very professional and courteous. We made an appointment for him to come and give an estimate for repairing my garage and to remodel my bathroom. The weather here was terrible so he had to finish up on a project before he got to mine. He and the guy with him did such a beautiful job. I am in love with my newly renovated bathroom . I will be asking him to do more work to my home soon.

We hired Fred Webb for what we considered to be a very substantial remodel to our home.  The job started on 5/27 and was projected to last 30 days, although there were a few very understandable delays, and we did add a few tasks to the list as things progressed.  There were some things we were very happy with, and others that were not delivered with the quality workmanship that was promised, and ultimately we took over and finished the job ourselves.  As time has passed we've noticed more and more "shortcuts" that were taken that don't match the quality that was promised, and we are also making those "fixes" out of pocket. Bottom line, Fred is a very nice man but I would not hire him again or recommend him to anyone else for a job of this magnitude.

Initially there were issues touching base. I called and while he said he would call back, he didn't. When we spoke, he apologized for not calling and we scheduled an estimate. He provided an estimate and overview of what would be done and then we scheduled the job. On the day of the job, I hadn't heard from him, so I called and found that another job presented some unexpected issues. As a result, he rescheduled my job. Thankfully it was during the holiday season and we had some flexibility.
Ultimately, the job was done and it was done well. I appreciate the work done and I would use him again.

Horrible. We signed the contract and gave an $800 payment so Fred could buy supplies (that should have been a red flag). They showed up about 10:00 AM the first day and left about 4:30 PM. It was just Fred and a laborer. He said he had "several employees" but all we ever saw was one day laborer. They spent about three days sanding and priming the fence over a week. They would show up late and leave early. By contract, Fred was supposed to cover all of the ground and brick. We never saw any tarps or cloth or other covers except for a rag the day laborer had in his Jeep, We now have paint on landscaping and brick (we have pictures). Fence priming was poor at best. They tried to paint the fence with Rustoleum spray paint (primer) from cans in a blowing wind without any windbreak. Paint went everywhere. Later, Fred said that he underestimated the paint costs (due to the wind) and wanted another $800 for supplies and welding 7 18-inch fence pickets (about $50 worth of repairs). We did not answer him. Finally, after they did not show up for about 8 days we called and fired him. This is not a company but a handyman who hires hourly unskilled laborers to work. They don't communicate at all. They don't contact you (except when they want more money). They start late-morning and leave well before most crews would. How this company received an "A" rating on Angie's list is beyond us. Buyer beware.
PS. We asked him to bid on some cabinet refinishing and interior painting. His bid was $10,690.00. The next highest bid (an A-rated Angie's List painting company) bid $4,990.00. Of course, we went with the latter bid. No more Fred in our house.
Response from Fred Webb's Remodeling
"In response to the member’s negative review, all professional contractors ask for a deposit for material before a job. For example, after 3 and a half hard working days in the wind, to do the professional job that I do; I was fired. With that said, a professional contractor would have taken a loss. The first day starting this project I picked up the supplies and materials and worked a FULL day. I do have several employees; however, this was only a 2 man job in which I personally took on to guarantee quality of work. The employee on the job is not a day laborer. In fact, he is one of my best crew members. This job was located on 60 Acres of open land with no wind block and with winds 20-35 mph. I had explained to the client that the wind was not allowing us to get the quality of work done and that we would be back when the wind was not so bad. The client understood and agreed that would be best. The client proceeded to speak of no tarps being used and of paint on landscape and brick. Tarps were used. I used 12 ft. prop clothes around the entire project. The paint on landscaping and brick the client pointed out to me was from previous contractors using brushes and painting mitts. I used aerosol cans which do not drip. Rustoleum Spray Paint is the best rust protection in the business, especially in small areas where you have no access with paintbrush for proper coverage. To do a quality job, it takes time. Spray painting cannot be done in an open area with sustained winds. For quality, you have to bow down to Mother Nature. The client was then saying we did not show up for 8 days. It was 3 days MAX. Longest time due to sustaining winds over 20 mph. At that time we were both in agreement. The bid the client mentioned for $10,690 was for SEVERAL PROJECTS in the home. Not just kitchen cabinets and interior painting. And the particular bid she was speaking of for kitchen cabinets and interior painting was for $5400.00 I’m a man of my word. I have been in business now for 24 years. With that said, I have never not completed a project that I have started. To get a review like this has only caused me to respond. I hope the work that she wants done will be everlasting and it doesn’t take 5 contractors."

After having written a bad review for Fred's remolding service, I received a phone call concerning any and all issues, I might have with the quality of his work. I told Fred what my issues were and he reminded me that if I had called him with any concerns, he would  immediately have arranged to correct the problem.

I must mention that Fred, did say all his work was guaranteed to customer satisfaction. I should have called Fred, before writing the review and would have saved both Fred and I time and effort in doing so. Fred set up a time to come out, showed up, fixed all my issues and I hired him to do some more work for me.

I can tell say with complete honesty, that is a first for me in dealing with contractor's, I've used in the past. It isn't the mistakes one makes but the wiliness to correct them. I am completely satisfied with Fred's remolding service and am looking forward to doing more with them in the future

Perfectly.  Fred arrived exactly at the scheduled time, 10 a.m.  First the old microwave and oven were removed from wall along with the cabinet.  The wall opening was cut and rebuilt to accommodate the new units and the cabinet rebuilt.  Finish work was perfection, matching the woodgrain and color of the existing cabinets perfectly. My shower was rebuilt a few months ago, however the previous contractor was unable install decorative tile properly.  Fred moved the existing decorative tile and replaced with new decorative tile provided by me. He moved existing tile without damaging the fixtures or surrounding tiles and glass.  Amaging quality work!  Fred delivers perfection which is hard to come upon in this day and time.
