They now have a closed practice and kennel. If you're not an existing patient, you cannot get in to see the vet or board your dog. Shame. Their facilities look very nice

I recommend them and would rate them number one. I have been to another veterinary place and according to Midland's recent report, that place is number two and Greenbelt is number one and I would agree with that. If you have a dog, it is okay to go to the other place but I have a cat and Greenbelt is the best. I have seen their facilities and I think that they are great. I boarded my cat there on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and I picked up my cat on Monday. I think that their price is very reasonable and I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Dr. Green was wonderful. He was very attentive to my questions, full of information I needed as a pet owner new to the area. The downside to my appointment was further communication after the appointment. I wasn't called with test results. After waiting almost a week, I had to call the clinic and leave a message requesting lab results. My call was not returned. I called again and finally got lab results. The clinic I used in another city prior to my move always called the day after any appointment in which shots etc. were given to check on my dog. I miss that level of care.

This visit we saw the tech first who did the regular checks and confirmed his broken leg and possible nerve damage. All was good to this point. When the vet himself came into the room within 5 minutes my son was crying.
The vet was trying to sell us a spot on the calendar for a visiting vet that would be in town "this weekend only". I know nothing about this specialist (possibly a very good one) but the sales pitch was we either pay the approx $3000 for this specialist and make the appt TODAY or we took the high risk that our boxer would get an infection at any time and would lose his leg altogether. When he began talking like this, I tried asking questions to understand our full range of options. Could we tend to the wound now and see how it healed? Could we do a simpler surgery that did not include the newly innovative techniques this specialist was offering (rods instead of smaller pins)? His final response was that we would just eventually end up with a 3 legged dog.
I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or was trying to pawn off the specialists fees on us, but this was very unprofessional. I give the a mediocre rating because all was very good until this happened.
Due to this incident, we have since been seeing a different vet in town and his fees are a little lower, but its more family oriented. On numerous occasions we will be in the office waiting for shots or to see the vet for follow ups on the broken leg and one of the other techs or groomers will come in, meet our dog, provide recommendations of food, snacks and free samples.

They are very quick and Nala is offered a treat after her visit. They help you get in and out with no problems. The services are a bit pricey, and with my tight budget I am tempter to find another caring doctor in town.

The office environment is the only thing I would give a 'C' to; the doctors and the techs are phenomenal; they are absolutely fabulous; the desk people, not so much; everything else I would give them an 'A'.

My 75-lb. Greyhound was injured over the Christmas holiday and treated at an emergency after-hours clinic but did not heal properly. I called Greenbelt as I was new in town and had received a referral for them from my vet in Washington. I got in very quickly after calling to explain my concern for my dog and was seen by two vets (Dr. Ashing and Dr. Green) on the staff. The entire team from reception to assistants to the vets themselves were professional and made my dog and I very comfortable. Dog had to undergo more surgery to repair the damage but doctor said that injures such as this often had to be re-done because of the nature of the injury. He assured me this almost always happened in such instances and never blamed or bad-mouthed the emergency vet who had performed the initial surgery. A oro-nasal resection had to be performed on my dog, but he recovered nicely and went home the same day. He has been seen since that initial visit several times for routine visits, flea/tick prevention, boarding and check-ups and each visit is like the first....very pleasant and calming. I would recommend Dr. Green and his entire staff to anyone looking for first class treatment for their four legged family members.
