Once he had my check for $1250, Mr. De Shaw was finished with me.  He did not return my calls or even pick up the certified letter I sent, much less answer it.  He did not respond to the complaint I registered with the Better Business Bureau.  I took him to Small Claims Court, and he didn't show up.  So I "won" by default, but that didn't get me any money back.  I hired an attorney, who wrote him another certified letter (to which he did not respond).  The attorney then told me there was nothing more I could do.  Mr. DeShaw got my money and he kept it.

He was very professional & did a great job.

Before even quoting the price and asking us permission if we were ok with the costs associated, he tried to do the job and make us pay for what he wanted to do ( not what we wanted him to do). When we actually chose certain things that he was supposed to provide he did not do them instead we were left with what we don't want / need.

From the beginning I knew we were gonna have trouble. He didn't return our calls promptly, he was late or didn't bother to show up at all. The project was due to be completed by May 27th, the weekend my son graduated form high school. That was a joke. I had a large tiller and bags of mulch stacked on the sidewalk outside my home. I had several family and friends over to celebrate and I was mortified! My husband was not always around when DeShaw showed up so I was left to handle things. On one occasion DeShaw asked me a question about the scrubs that did not know the answer to. He began screaming and cursing at me. I was so upset I began to cry and immediately called my husband to come home and handle the situation. DeShaw is the rudest persons on I have ever met! That aside, the quality of his work is very poor. Several of the scrubs died. He said he replace them but returned our calls so we had to replace the plants ourselves at an additional cost to us. One of trees he planted was not placed at the proper depth and it's growth has been stunted. We are now trying to save the tree and have hired an expert, at our own cost, to treat the tree. This has been my experience with Mr. DeShaw. I truly hope that you consider my story before you make any decision. Good luck.

The builders picked them.  Nothing stood out about their work.  They were kind of rude on the phone.

Steve DeShaw is excellent!  Works well with the builders.

They were part of the people who built our house and they provided the landscaping when they built it.  I would recommend them to family members and friends.  They did a good job and the quality of the plants and trees that they supplied were very good.  Their price was good.
