We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Mr. Stroud was untruthful several times in his response to the complaint. Needless to say, the Better Business Bureau agreed with us stating "The business failed to resolve the complaint issues" and dropped his rating.
Stay away from this company!
Update after reviewing Skytech's Response:
As mentioned in my BBB complaint, Mr. Stroud (the owner of Skytech) never mentioned replacing the skylights. His only quote was for fixing the leaks for $400 and included a 1 year warranty. It seems odd to me that Mr. Stroud or any company would take on a job and provide a 1 year warranty if his recommendation was not chosen. Mr. Stroud is not being truthful. Instead of taking responsibility for his lack of performance, he chooses to fib and blame others.
His comment on us being "belligerent" is what he mistook for our frustration in having to contact him and waiting up to 1 month to hear back from him. He ignored our phone calls and emails and he only came out after we had repeatedly threatened him with a lawsuit.
Mr. Stroud's comment on our "cheaply made add-on sunroom" and "doing very little upkeep to the home" is news to us and he seemed to omit this from his Better Business Bureau response. I question his motivation for making these statements.
The quality of Mr. Stroud's work is well reflected by the quality of his response. I doubt he even proof read it.
"[member name removed] is not happy because he chose the cheap route instead of trying to pay an expensive price for new skylights. He has a cheaply made add-on sun room in which every seam was not sealed. we went 6 times to work on items we did not bid on. [member name removed] was belligerent to us but we continued to go untill he told me no way was he going to have us out there. And wanted a full refund. e did our part that we was hired to do. He chose the inexpensive route. We sealed what we said we would seal. We did things that we were not contracted to do. They do very little upkeep to the home. That is all I can say. Some people are not going to be pleased"
