Robbie was punctual and met us at the house during my lunch break, which was convenient. I gave him a brief synopsis of what that pool demo crew had done, and that the breaker in the breaker box wasn't engaging in the on or off position. He looked at the remnants of the electrical box that had been wired to the pool pumps. Before beginning, he tested the wires and found that two of the 4 (exposed) wires coming out of the top of the outlet casing were live with 220 volt power. Good to know.
We went back to the breaker box and after wiggling the breaker and finding that it wouldn't engage in a position he suspected something was wrong with the breaker and grabbed a spare from his van. He came back out and disconnected the power and removed the breaker in question and saw that the wire inside had been almost yanked completely out and had damaged the housing of the breaker, which is why it was no longer engaging in the on/off position. He replaced the breaker and turned his attention to the wiring that went from the quad outlet box where the pool pumps had been hardwired.
He removed the 4 wires that were coming out of the top of the box from the quad outlet casing, capped another wire that was exposed but not live, and confirmed that power was now going to the motor of the electrical gate (which it was). The whole process took about 45 minutes, and the cost was $125.
He was friendly, courteous, and was happy to explain everything that he found as he went along. I was happy to have it fixed the same day he came out.
