Concrete Smith

I hired Concrete Smith to build a 260 sq. ft. patio. Their price was good and they only had minor delays in the preparation before the pour. They were going to pour on 11/11/15 (Veterans days) and while they were on site, they asked for the first 1/2 of the payment so they could purchase concrete. We gave them a check. They later said that they could not cash the check on Veteran's day so the pour would be later. The concrete truck showed up at my address later that day so I called Concrete Smith to tell them. The truck left later without pouring concrete. Concrete Smith contacted me on Thursday 11/12/15 to explain that the pour would be Friday morning (11/13/15) at 9:00AM and that their crew would show up at 8:00AM to prepare. At 9:30AM, I had heard nothing so I called Concrete Smith 3 times with no answer. They called later to explain that the concrete truck had cancelled at 5:00AM and said they didn't think I wanted them to call at 5:00AM. I thanked them for not calling at 5:00AM but questioned why we were not called about 8:00 to let us know that no one was coming. They said the pour would now be on Monday. Rain was predicted on Monday, so I called them Monday morning to see if they could pour on Wednesday. They said that they had 1/2 the money and that they had terminated the contract because I asked questions about the concrete and was rude to ask for a call when they did not show up on Friday morning. I would strongly suggest not using this contractor.
