Exterior WoodSavers

I chose this company because they did the staining of my new fence back in 2009. I emailed the company for an appointment for an estimate. On 05/31, the representative came out and took measurements and gave me a estimate of staining my fence (142linear feet, 2130sqft). The estimate was quite a bit lower than I expected. I did research on the Internet for cost per square feet for washing and staining a fence. My calculations came in at twice what the estimate was. He contacted his office and reserved me a date for the first part, the hydrowash, which was scheduled for the week of 07/09. This was written on the estimate given to me. They first do a wash of the fence then let it dry and then apply the stain a few days later. Next day the company contacted me and I put down 20 percent deposit of total bill to reserve spot. Again I was told I was schedule for week of July 9 for the hydrowash. The week came and went. I called office Friday of that week and left message. Later in the day I got a call back, stating due to a scheduling mix-up I was scheduled for July 16. Time was scheduled for 3pm on 7/16. Waited until 5pm and no show. I called and found out that the crew was delayed at another job and would not be able to make it to my property. Time was rescheduled for the next day 7/17 at 10am. By 12noon the crew was a no show. The 2-man crew showed up at 1:43pm. You don’t need to be home during either the wash or staining. Just as long as the techs have access to backyard via unlocked gate and access to electric outlet and water faucet. The hydrowash took about 80 minutes. Temperature was about 104 degrees. Afterwards the fence looked a lot better. All the grime and mildew and discoloration that had built up over the years were gone. Fence had to dry for a few days before application of stain. Office called me and scheduled stain application for 07/23 @ 9am. The technician (David) arrived at 1:43pm. It was just one person that would be applying the stain. The temp was 100+ degrees. In my opinion it was too hot for just one person to be applying the stain. Two would have been better with one applying while the other rested. Two coats of stain were applied. The job was finished at 5pm. I observed that the technician was one of the crew that did the hydrowash. It appears there is only one crew that does both the washing and staining thus the reason for the delays in showing up on time. After the staining the fence, it looks just like it did nine years ago. It was a good job. I would recommend this company based on job performance and outcome of work. The personnel with the company and the crew that came out were all friendly and professional. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction. You will need to be patient with this company, as delays will occur.

The costumer service is lacking a bit (the office staff prefers e-mail and both times a crew was coming out we received an e-mail 15 hours prior to scheduled work).  However, the cleaning and staining crews do an excellent job.  It only took two days (a few hours each time, if that) to complete the job.  The stain crew took time to cover our pool and plants in the backyard, taking care with each item,  which was impressive.  The serviced included a free estimate, which was nice and they honored an Angie's List discount we were quoted back in May for a job we ended up not doing until August.  All was appreciated.

Fence looks great.  Better than brand new.  Our homebuilder used an unsealed stained, so we were eager to have it redone with a quality product by a quality service.  Service team was very professional, honest, and efficient.   They actually used a  slightly darker color that matched our aftermarket Arbor and shutters, without even being asked, which was a nice surprise.
There was unavoidable staining of fence-border grass that comes with spray-staining, but for the low price we paid, i didn't expect a spotless cleanup.   For you DYI folks, the supplies alone would run you $200+ for this job, and labor would suck up a whole weekend at least.  $384 was a bargain.
Only complaint was the timing (both cleaning and staining appointments actually showed up earlier dates than quoted).
Would definitely recommend to friends & family.  It was a pleasure every time I spoke with Raven & Eric!

After one month the deck looks even worse. There are spots where the stain is actually coming off.   Very poor work.

Very professional with all areas of contact.  Talked to Eric and made arrangements to get quote.  Workmen arrived on date specidied and completed staining of fence, wiped off fence poles and kept stain at a minimum on flower bed and lawn.  They missed a few places on bottom of fence on outside (may have been due to moist wood).  A quality control man was sent to evaluate the wood missed and a few drips that had occured.  Problems were resolved and fence looks great now.  I believe this company is very reliable and will do what they say.  Job well done.

I was delighted with the quality of the work.  These people know what they are doing.  Results are great.  They were very careful to leave the job clean and tidy.  Price seemed reasonable but I did not shop for comparison.

They did a great job.  The came as promised and did what they said they would do.  They did a nice job!

They did a GREAT JOB.  We did get delayed one day on both actions (due to weather) but the delay was worth it .... They were very professional and informative ..... and the "clean up" was perfect.

The Exterior Woodsavers Company did a great job on staining my fence.  They were able to schedule my fence staining before Thanksgiving despite some weather setbacks.  In addition, Exterior Woodsavers has very good communication skills with their clients.  I never had any trouble getting in touch with their office.
Before the fence was to be stained by Exterior Woodsavers, the crew prepped the fence by washing it with a solution that kills mildew and fungus.  After four days, the fence was sprayed with an oil-based stain that looks great!  All of the metal posts on the fence were wiped clean of stain, and there was no over-spray on the house (bricks or gutters).  The crew did a wonderful job with the clean-up!
The crew was very polite and professional.  They were able to answer all my questions.  If my fence needs to be restained in about three or four years, I will definitely use Exterior Woodsavers.  I highly recommend Exterior Woodsavers to anyone!

Eric Taylor was very professional and the product he uses is of the highest quality. This was my second experience with the company and, as I experienced previously, he kept in touch regarding weather conditions and booking the job.  I would highly recommend Exterior WoodSavers.  I have recommended him to many of my neighbors and acquaintances and they, too, have been very satisfied with the quality and professionalism of the company.

The workers were very professional and completed the work on time and as described in the estimate,  I would recommend them to a neighbor or friend.  There price was fair.  I got three quotes and there quote was in the middle,

I had been looking at work performed in my neighborhood and 3 companies stood out based solely on the quality of work. I received estimates from all 3 companies and Exterior woodsavers came in with the lowest bid. The work was performed as promised. I originally agreed on the walnut stain but when the crew showed up they recommended the cedar color. Since I had changed the color I had to be rescheduled which was not a problem. In fact, I am very happy with the recommendation of the crew. The fence looks brand new again. I am extremely pleased with the results and plan to use them again in 4 - 5 years when my fence will need to be re-stained again. I have a very large back yard with a 10K fence, so I want to make sure I protect my investment.

Eric did a wonderful job repairing our gate.  He was meticulous, professional and really nice, so I gave an A+ for that portion of the service.  The cleaning of our fence and staining looks really nice and the only reason I gave this company an overall B rating is because there was quite a bit of overspray on our grass and pool deck and the crew left our backyard in quite a bit of disarray.  The crew did a great job covering the pool but apparently did not extend the covering far enough over the deck area by our gate.  I called the company to ask what we could do to clean up the overspray on the deck and was told by Dana that she would have Eric call me right away.  I never did hear back from Eric or anyone from Exterior Woodsavers and still have overspray on our pool deck.

I was very pleased with WoodSavers staining our fence.  They kept in constant communication with the weather changes since we had to reschedule a couple of times due to rain or possible rain in the forecast.  They came out as scheduled and stained our fence and our fence looks GREAT!  The color actually looks better then we envisioned it in our minds before it was stained.  This is a re-staining of our fence.  We will use WoodSavers the next time we need our fence stained.  They did a GREAT job and they were nice and friendly to deal with and the price was reasonable.

I highly recommend this company for your exterior wood fence staining. They were nice to work with (Eric & Dana), no scheduling issues, notified you when your pre-wash and stain dates were going to be performed...showed up on time and they did a great job on the fence and clean up too.  I would use them again...there price was a bit cheaper than most.

They didn't show up on the scheduled day.  I called them and they returned my call and said they would do it on Saturday, but they didn't show up then either.  When I was about ready to give up, they showed up on Sunday.
The paint job on the fence was very good, but some of the other things they were to do weren't good.
I might use this provider in the future, but with better screening.

I'd seen some of their work in surrounding neighborhoods and it looks good so I knew they do quality work and they were able to give me the best price. I'm an out of state landlord so I needed somebody that was willing to come in and do the job without me being there and work with confidence. Everything went smoothly and I had no complaints from my tenants. The tenants said they did a good job and then I was recently in town and able to inspect it myself and I thought they did a great job myself.

They had an excellent phone person.  They came out at the agreed-upon appointed time, measured the fence, brought samples of different stains, diagramed the yard, and gave us a written estimate.  A few weeks later, at the agreed-upon scheduled time, their crew came out and washed the fence. About a week later they stained the fence, which came out beautifully.  They were very easy to deal with.  We had used them once before, in 2006 and were happy with them then as well.
With this most recent job, we originally had responded to an Angie's List Big Deal with another company, As Good As New. However, I decided not to use them after I became concerned with how difficult it was to communicate with them, and they did not seem to know what they were doing.  I decided that paying less but having the job done badly and getting poor customer did not make sense.  In the future, I plan to call Woodsavers first.

They are excellent! They were right on time. They came when they said they would and that was great. They gave me a competitive price.

We needed our fence stained and call asking them to give us a quote.  We had their quote within a week.  Once we decided to use them they scheduled a date to come by and clean the fence.  The day before they were to show up to clean the fence we received a phone call reminding us that they were coming.  I liked that!  They then scheduled a date to stain the fence but due to rain they called back and rescheduled a few days later.  They then followed up with a reminder call the day before coming to stain.  I liked that!  They did an excellent job staining the fence and were very careful with my plants and outdoor furniture.  We will use them again next year.  Job well done!!

They were great. They are very careful to protect other surfaces, even covered my entire pool. They clean the stain off of the steel fence posts, leaving them looking as new as the fence looks. Fence is 8 years old and looks like new thanks to Exterior Woodsavers.

They did not cover my roof when the arbor staining was taking place. They got stain all over the backside of my house.  The entire back side of the roof was damaged.  Initially they were going to replace the damaged part of the roof until they realized how much it would cost.  When they realized the cost there final offer was to clean it with questionable chemicals, which would void the roof waranty.  They wanted to use grease lightning cleaner and degreaser.  A product sheet I recieved from the company clearly states it should not be used on shingles.

We were happy with their services.  We have used them before and will use them again as needed in the future.
