I ended up spending 147.00 for one machine to be fixed. It still skips stitches as before. The second machine was never touched but I was told I would have to replace 4 pieces that make up the bobbin to make it work. In speaking with the repair technician, he truely feels that I have no clue of what makes a machine work and would buy into his pathetic reasons for the machines lack of repair. Do not waste your time or money with this business.
Description of Work: I took my sewing machine in for repair. It would sew a few stitched and skip a half inch, sew a few more and skip again. The owner Walter would not stand still long enough to truely listen to my problems with the machine. Their policy is to cleaned the machine as a starting point before they trouble shoot the problem "a good tune up will solve most problems. Like a car.." for a base cost of $99.99. It took nearly a week for the "tune up". I pick up the machine and then brought in my second sewing machine for them to work on. This was a embroidery machine that needed my laptop for the patterns to run. I explained the problem with the second machine in detail. Took examples of the faulty stitching with me. The person who took the machine didn't listen to me explain, he walked away bring Walter back to the front for me to explain again what was wrong. Walter would not stand still. He just itemized each piece that I brought in and handed me a claim check. I called to check on the status of the second machine, spoke with the technician and he said that he had not looked at it. This was day 5 of them having the machine. The first machine dripped oil from the needle mechanism, which had to be continually mopped down so that it would not ruin my fabric. Several days had pass as I tested the machine. When I worked on heavy material the machine still skipped stitches. I tried the cotton weight the machine still skipped stitches. The service call is warrentied for 90 days, so I boxed up my machine and took it back to Willet's. As I lifted the machine off the sewing table I saw a puddle of oil the size of a tennis ball. This was day 8 of them having the second machine. When I arrived at the service counter, my second machine was there. When I asked Walter if it was fixed, he responded it had never been touched, his repair tech was intimidated by the computer and didn't want to work on the machine. I then told Walter again the problem with the machine was in the bobbin and volunteered to come in and help the service tech with the repair. I then explained how the first machine was oozing oil and still skipping the stitches. The next day I called twice to check on both machines. I was told that the first machine was working fine and the repair tech could not find a problem. He attitude was rude and I told him I didn't appreciate his nasty attitude. He asked me to bring in proof that the machine was not working properly. I brought in two pieces that showed perfect stitches for a while then where the skipping started again. He told me it was due to my using cone thread, I told him it happened with both spool and cone. Then it was because it was black thread. I said it happened on white thread too. I was using the wrong pressure foot... the excuses were less and less believable It was obvious that he knows only how to grease a sewing machine not how to fix it. I asked for both of my machine. Took both of them home with neither of them fixed.
