Stratum Foundation Repair

Took the time to discuss all options with regard to recent foundation movement and which area needed to be addressed immediately and which areas could wait. Work was done in a timely and professional manner and the clean-up after the work was well done.

Out of allof the people I got estimates from, Ryan at Stratum took the most time and gave me the best explanation of what they would be doing. Ryan was great with following up and answering my e-mails after our initial meeting, too. Once I decided on going with Startum, I got information telling me who and at what time Stratum workers would show up at my house. An engineer, who is not employed by or associated with Stratum,  came to the house before and after to make sure the work was done correctly. Edgar, who was in charge of the crew, was very polite, made sure all of the promised work was done, and made sure everything was picked up after. I am very happy with their work!

Stratum Foundation completed the repair to my foundation on 7/22/15. I received the final engineer's report today, 7/30/15. Because of the shape of my house, the necessary repair was a bit complicated. Stratum did an outstanding job from start to finish. Every employee I encountered was courteous, professional, and competent. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my closest friends or to family. They were on time and did clean and high quality work. I learned during this process that there is an art to successful foundation lifts. The crew doing the work at your property needs to be good. Mine was excellent.

Everyone was very nice and professional. The work went well and on schedule. The job was done to the engineers specification. They had to break out some of the concrete in our driveway and on our walkway and took the time to make sure that the lines were straight and that the concrete lines matched those on the rest of the driveway. They were also very good about cleaning up and moved the displaced dirt where we needed it in other parts of our yard.

Steve Smith came out and did an inspection of our home.  Explained patiently foundation changes to a prospective buyer and us and did not recommended any work.  Explained why.  Explained about soaker hoses and how they worked Impressive professionalism and kudos for honesty and ethics.   If we ever needed foundation work in the future, I'd recommend them without hesitation due to their honesty.

We met with several foundation businesses. All sales reps were very nice. However, the bids we received went as high as $17500 to $6200. We researched all of the companies on Angie's list and Stratum had very good ratings. We had hoped to find someone locally to support our local economy; however, the estimates were significant. Before the job, a structural engineer from another company came to house to verify what the Stratum sales person estimated and to offer any additional advice. This same person came a second time to inspect the work performed. In both cases a detailed report was provided. The bid also included a visit by another plumbing inspector. All of these costs were a part of the bid and were not included in other bids.We did not have to use the companies with whom they contracted, but they each had good references on Angie's List. We are pleased with the work. They even had to work on the inside of the house and there was no noticeable disruption when I returned. Carpet was down just as I had left it. We received a detail lifetime warranty which is transferable with the house.

Ryan said the problem was the faulty construction of the add-ons, but he did not tell me this when he took my $5,000. At that time he said everything was great. During the last repair, the roof made a cracking noise and water leaked in the house. He denied any fault. I have had a thorough inspection since then by a structural engineer that supports my case. I just don't have the time or money to pursue a lawsuit. I would not recommend this company. They are young, inexperienced and unprofessional. They also don't know what they are doing.
