We have a slight crack in the tile along the center of the house and wanted to have the foundation looked at before doing any repair work. Joey came out on time and walked me around the house, inside and out, explaining what he saw and what he was looking for. He did a thorough job and tested the elevation of our slab all over the house. He mentioned that there was a light grade in the foundation, but nothing to worry about at this time. He drew me a map of the home and where to apply soaker hoses to hep with soil management. The experience was informative and very helpful. I will call Stratum for any foundation needs I have in the future. They are honest and very professional.

Ryan Williams arrived as scheduled and measured the house foundation. He walked the exterior of the house reviewing the brick, windows and ground. He took the time to explain the measurements and his observations. I appreciated is comments. He emailed documentation of the measurements. At this time, he recommended no piers be installed. He did indicate one side of the house to watch for future movement and to call if a new evaluation. I do recommend Stratum.

Took the time to discuss all options with regard to recent foundation movement and which area needed to be addressed immediately and which areas could wait. Work was done in a timely and professional manner and the clean-up after the work was well done.

Went great as no work was required and I was given assurance of a sound foundation.
Description of Work: Ryan Williams surveyed my foundation due to my concern of potential foundation issues as I have experienced erosion around the perimeter and apparently have a plumbing leak in the foundation. Ryan inspected the perimeter of the home and guided that there were no issues with the foundation. Ryan provided guidance on how best to correct and maintain the issue with erosion while providing me the confidence that the foundation was sound.

Out of allof the people I got estimates from, Ryan at Stratum took the most time and gave me the best explanation of what they would be doing. Ryan was great with following up and answering my e-mails after our initial meeting, too. Once I decided on going with Startum, I got information telling me who and at what time Stratum workers would show up at my house. An engineer, who is not employed by or associated with Stratum, came to the house before and after to make sure the work was done correctly. Edgar, who was in charge of the crew, was very polite, made sure all of the promised work was done, and made sure everything was picked up after. I am very happy with their work!
Description of Work: Stratum installed 8 steel piers to fix my foundation under my garage. They also caulked and mortared areas that were cracked before the repair.

Great service and communication, from getting an emailed calendar invite (I manage everything on my calendar) to arriving on time and providing sound balanced advice with options to consider. With foundations you have to be prepared for bad news and to spend money but the plan that was put together and advice to get a SE to come out to clarify needs was spot on.

Stratum Foundation completed the repair to my foundation on 7/22/15. I received the final engineer's report today, 7/30/15. Because of the shape of my house, the necessary repair was a bit complicated. Stratum did an outstanding job from start to finish. Every employee I encountered was courteous, professional, and competent. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my closest friends or to family. They were on time and did clean and high quality work. I learned during this process that there is an art to successful foundation lifts. The crew doing the work at your property needs to be good. Mine was excellent.

Found Stratum Foundation repair after reviewing a Youtube video on how a foundation repair. Went to Angie's List to look up their review and they had excellent reviews so we figured let's try them. Mr. Williams who came to the house was great. There was no pressure, no pitch. He was honest stated our foundation needed no repairs (which I noticed another reviewer stated the same thing). I really appreciated his honesty especially living in an area of Texas where home service contractors/company are always looking for a buck or looking to scam the consumer. Will definitely use Stratum Foundation Repair if needing work, will likely have them come to the house again in 2-3 years to make sure everything is OK. I highly recommend to anyone to please give Stratum Foundation Repair a call to look at their house-a truly an honest company where very few exist.

They are fair to middle range. They said if I water my foundation that it will correct the situation but its actually the opposite from a structural engineer. From an business a standpoint they will say what good for them.

[Member name removed], We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with our company, we take feedback very seriously here at Stratum. After reading what you had to say I would love to speak with you either through email or over the phone to clear up some misunderstandings about our recommendations. Perhaps there was miscommunication between you and your realtor, who was the person we were in contact with for the inspection. We inspected your home and determined that the 1.5 inch drop across the first 15 feet of your home from the front wall was causing visible cosmetic damage, with the potential to cause structural damage if it continues at the same rate. This variance is roughly 3 times over the acceptable deflection of L/360 that engineer’s recommend is safe for the slab. We then decided that in the best interest of your home you should install piers under the front grade beam to lift and stabilize the structure at that point. We then noted that the reason the front of the home was settling to this extent was the moisture loss due to the tree location near your foundation. We recommended that regardless of your repair plan, if you wanted to keep the tree you would need to provide more water for it, so it doesn’t take it away from the supporting soils. If you do this then you would be fine keeping the tree. This is where I think the confusion stemmed from. As you stated in your review we also gave you a quote for 8 piers to spread out under the grade beam to lift and stabilize the front of the home. However our quote was for $2,890 and not for $3,800. Perhaps there was some miscommunication there as well. You also state that from a business standpoint we will say what is good for us. You are absolutely correct in this statement. We believe that from a business standpoint what is good for our customers is good for us. We approach every job as if it were our own. Description of Work: I got 3 bids for possible foundations repairs. On wanted to pier the entire house. Another wanted to pier the front of my house. Stratum told me that I didn't need to do anything but take a few preventative steps. As a result of the differing opinions I hired a independent structural engineer to perform an evaluation. He confirmed Strarums analysis. In a field that appears to lack integrity, Stratum appears to be a honest company

Everyone was very nice and professional. The work went well and on schedule. The job was done to the engineers specification. They had to break out some of the concrete in our driveway and on our walkway and took the time to make sure that the lines were straight and that the concrete lines matched those on the rest of the driveway. They were also very good about cleaning up and moved the displaced dirt where we needed it in other parts of our yard.

Steve Smith came out and did an inspection of our home. Explained patiently foundation changes to a prospective buyer and us and did not recommended any work. Explained why. Explained about soaker hoses and how they worked Impressive professionalism and kudos for honesty and ethics. If we ever needed foundation work in the future, I'd recommend them without hesitation due to their honesty.

We met with several foundation businesses. All sales reps were very nice. However, the bids we received went as high as $17500 to $6200. We researched all of the companies on Angie's list and Stratum had very good ratings. We had hoped to find someone locally to support our local economy; however, the estimates were significant. Before the job, a structural engineer from another company came to house to verify what the Stratum sales person estimated and to offer any additional advice. This same person came a second time to inspect the work performed. In both cases a detailed report was provided. The bid also included a visit by another plumbing inspector. All of these costs were a part of the bid and were not included in other bids.We did not have to use the companies with whom they contracted, but they each had good references on Angie's List. We are pleased with the work. They even had to work on the inside of the house and there was no noticeable disruption when I returned. Carpet was down just as I had left it. We received a detail lifetime warranty which is transferable with the house.

Ryan said the problem was the faulty construction of the add-ons, but he did not tell me this when he took my $5,000. At that time he said everything was great. During the last repair, the roof made a cracking noise and water leaked in the house. He denied any fault. I have had a thorough inspection since then by a structural engineer that supports my case. I just don't have the time or money to pursue a lawsuit. I would not recommend this company. They are young, inexperienced and unprofessional. They also don't know what they are doing.
Description of Work: My home was inspected by an engineer and they installed 13 piers and shimmed existing piers. The foundation trouble was with two rooms that were added on to the house before I purchased it. Some of the work done was obscured by a wrap-around deck. Ryan assured me that the work could be done without removing the deck even though I was okay with them dismantling some of it. He did the work and I paid on time. Over the next couple of months, the front room seemed more out-of-whack than ever. My exterior doors would not open and shut properly nor lock. I was told to give it more time. When I had the deck removed for landscape work, it revealed shoddy work on the original foundation and inadequate repairs. I had Ryan come out and look. He suggested I cover it up, paint over the cracks, sell the house, and pass on the problem to someone else. I pleaded with him to do something. He came back out to put a beam in and totally botched the job. He charged me $3,000 more and I refused to pay. My floor is destroyed, my front door won't open, the door frame is splintered, my elevations are more skewed than ever.
