They exceeded all of our expectations! We chose to get a quote from them after seeing so many recommendations from a McKinney Facebook group. We had two other companies come out for quotes, and decided to move forward with Hancock. Boy am I glad we did!!! Tyler was absolutely amazing to work with! He was straight forward and honest with everything from start to finish. He came by multiple times a day to check on progress and to answer any questions we might have had. Alan and the rest of the crew were fantastic! They were prompt, so precise, and couldn’t have asked for better with building our gorgeous new fence. We liked them so much, we even made lunch for them one day!!! It’s reassuring to know that there are still trustworthy companies out there that actually take pride in what they do instead of trying to make a quick buck. We can’t say enough great things about our experience with Hancock fence. From beginning to end Mr Hancock and crew were fabulous! Hancock fence took out 10+ year old eye sore down and put up a beautiful head turner. We have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors and our HOA is happy with us again. Being on a corner lot and at the entrance to our neighborhood we wanted a fence with height and extra privacy. Going from a contractor grade 6ft fence to an 8ft board on board is like living in a dream. The gate itself is such quality, extremely durable and one of the reasons why we chose Hancock for our project. Nothing beats the clu-clunk you hear every time it shuts. Thank you for taking away our dilapidated excuse for a fence and replacing it with a fabulous work of art.

All went very well. Crew was GREAT (seriously - GREAT), worked fast. No cussing, no arguing, no loud music. Nice people. Some companies build board-on-board so that the boards just bare overlap, resulting in gaps that people can see thru as the fence ages. Not these guys!! - The overlapped the boards enough that we should never have any 'gap' problems. Materials and workmanship (CRAFTSMANSHIP would be a better word) were all first rate. We now have the prettiest, best constructed fence on the block!

While Hancock admits they are not the cheapest fence installers around, the quality of their fence and service is very high. The installation crew came when promised, and did a top-quality installation. They cleaned up well and did not damage anything. Very good value for the money. The new fence is very strong and well-made. They have a unique high-quality gate that was installed with the fence. You won't be sorry you used Hancock.

Once I decided what option I wanted, the installation was scheduled quickly. The work was done in one day - very pleased with the fence, and also the clean up! I will definitely use Hancock again, and hope to have them back to add some of their upgrade options. Beautiful work!

Great! Tyler worked with me during the whole process from the initial on site visit, to preparing and reviewing the contract and then inspecting the final product. He graciously answered all of my questions regardless of how small. The installation crew of Richard and Hector did an excellent job. They worked very efficiently and always kept the work area neat. I could tell from the finished fence that these men and this company take a lot of pride in their work. The fence is beautiful!

It went great! The job started and completed within the three days as originally scheduled. The workers were friendly and professional. They cleaned-up as they went and did not leave a mess when finished. It's a number 2 cedar fence, but there are very few knots. It is a beautiful, sturdy fence and we are happy customers, again.

It went great! Removed old fence and replaced with a work of art. This is the third fence I have paid for and it is hand down the best. The gate framing and hinges are unique in the industry, as far as I know of. I believe the design is better that the typical, which is probably why they have such an outstanding warranty on the gates. I love our new fence. Metal posts set down three feet in concrete, standard seems to be two feet. We've already had several high wind storms with gusts to 60+ mph and the fence stands strong, like it's a gentle breeze. They do awesome work, best fence in my area (construction and visual). Would definitely look them up again if I ever move or need a new fence in 20+ years.

We were so pleased at how fast they responded to our needs.  They were only there for a couple of days and it looked fantastic after they finished.  We were able to add decorative iron work (that you can by from them) and it just gave the fence a touch of class!!

Went very quickly.  Quality is top notch.  Their prices are higher, but you get what you pay for. We are very satisfied with their work.

I researched fence companies for over a year, driving my neighborhood, getting multiple bids and talking to different homeowners. Clear choice was Hancock. From start to finish, totally professional, job completed in a few days, not weeks. Clean up, no damage to vegetation & expert craftsmanship. Last, pricing was also great, can't recommend highly enough!

After researching and interviewing multiple fence companies to install a new fence on my property, I narrowed my options down to two fence companies and one of them was Hancock Fence. Based on strict budgeting and timing, I chose the other fence company, not Hancock Fence. After the other company completed the job, I knew I had made the wrong choice. The fence wasn't constructed that badly but there were a few minor construction and appearance flaws that could have been performed with better quality. I didn't know exactly what to look for when the fence was completed and really wanted another opinion from a professional. But how do I get that? I decided to ask Hancock Fence to come out and inspect my fence. I was embarrassed to ask this because I know this isn't the norm and how would they invoice me for this service. I spoke to Tyler and he surprised me with his professionalism, attitude and willingness to provide what I needed. He came out to my house as requested and inspected my fence with a detailed, precise professional eye. Tyler gave me 100% of his attention and time and never once complained about what I had asked him to do. Not only was I thrilled with his feedback on the fence installation, I was impressed with his business etiquette and the way he represented his company. Based on the short amount of time I spent with Tyler and what he did for me as a fence professional, there is no doubt in my mind I should have chosen Hancock Fence to install my fence. Indeed, hindsight is 20/20. I may have made the wrong choice. Hancock Fence was the only one that did everything right. There aren't many companies out there who know how to exceed customer expectations (much less noncustomers). Thank you, Tyler, for making it easy for me. Thank you for your time and honesty. It's a long story, but lets just say I was late and my gate would not open.  On top of that an alarm was going off that I didn't even know I had.  My "ohh my gosh I'm late reaction" was to disconnect the gate motor and cut some wires.  It worked and fired the gate motor.
Dutch came out initially thinking this was a simple fix, and quickly realized that my wire cutters had done some nice damage.
After 3 trips, conversations with the manufacturer, and some real dedication, Dutch was able to get it working again and better than ever.  He saved me the cost of a new motor replacement, which would have cost me around $1500 to $2000.
Just so ya know, I called Hancock Fence because he had built a beautiful 8 foot board-on-board cedar fence with a barn-door style gate that I could drive my truck through at my previous home.

I was completely satisfied with every step of the project from the estimate to finished job. I have a pretty large back yard and yet the first day the crew was here they completely removed all old fencing and cemented posts, hauled everything away and had the new posts cemented in the ground. everything was completed in a timely manner and the owner checked on the project often throughout the project and checked with me daily to see if i had any concerns or questions.When i checked the completed job I didn't find so much as a single screw or nail left over and they even removed some old rotted wood behind the fence. The finished project looks great and very professional. I would definately reccomend this company to friends and neighbors.

I needed a new fence and chose Hancock Fence after extensive research and because they had a Spring Special. Dutch Hancock showed up when promised and surveyed my fence setup. He answered all of my questions patiently, and it was evident to me that this was a man who took pride in his company's reputation and that he was committed to building the best fence possible without cutting any corners. He provided a comprehensive estimate worksheet that clearly showed various options, photos, and pricing. His price was competitive with other quotes I received. I upgraded to coated washer head screws instead of nails to install the pickets, as well as clear cedar pickets with no knots and double trim at top. I am glad I did. The 2 man crew that built the fence worked hard and it was obvious that they had a lot of experience and also took pride in their work. The detailing at the corners and gates was excellent (I know because I am a registered architect with 40 year's experience). The heavy duty steel posts and concrete piers extend about 3 feet into the ground- this is a fence that will hold up to a strong wind that would blow an ordinary fence down. The crew did a good job of cleaning up. Communication between Dutch and me was everything I could ask for.







I have a corner lot and have received complements on the beautiful fence several times. It has been in place 4 years, and after being re-stained recently, it still looks like new. It looks like a piece of furniture with the clear cedar pickets and superb craftsmanship. If I can figure out how to post photos, I will. The fence is solid as a rock, standing straight as an arrow, and the adjustable metal framed gates still work perfectly. Dutch came out and re-inspected the fence before it was re-stained (as he had told me he would when I bought the fence) and performed maintenance at no charge.

Over the past couple of years, I have spent over $1000 repairing my 12 year old fence. I was tired of sinking money into my fence so I called Hancock based on their great reviews on Angies List.

I asked Tyler Hancock a couple of questions and he offered to give me a price quote. I wanted a quote but didn't want somebody to come out just yet, but Tyler asked me to give him my address. He brought up a satellite image of my lot and in an hour he sent me a quote that measured my fence length according to the photo and included some of the options we discussed. The satellite measurements were spot on. We invited Tyler and his father Dutch (the owner) came to talk with us and our discussion gave me confidence that these guys knew what they were talking about and took pride in delivering a quality product. All my wife needed to hear was and quot;lifetime warranty on the gatesand quot; becase we have had both of our gates fixed multiple times due to the shifting soil.

The Hancock crew was at my house all day from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. These guys were here for a week and I did not have a single complaint or any sinking feelings during the process that they didn't know what they were doing. By Wednesday I was buying them pizza for lunch and bringing them coffee in the morning and sodas in the afternoon because I was so appreciative of their hard work and quality craftsmanship. When they were putting in the posts, they used a level on each one to ensure that they were straight. That's probably to be expected, but I was floored when I saw them using a level on the picket boards as well. My neighbor commented to me and said and quot;I watched the guy build your gate over a couple of days and was very impressed with the level of attention and detail he used.and quot; Every neighbor that walks by comments on how great looking the fence is and how well built it appears.

Attached is a picture of the 10 foot steel posts, and the short one is a post that has been sunk 3 feet into the ground in concrete. These guys mix the concrete first and then pour it in - not like somecompanies that dump the dry concrete in the hole and then pour the water in and give it a and quot;stirand quot;. The only additional cost we had that we were not quoted for (but we were informed about) was the hand digging of some posts. Because their posts go down 36 inches, the posts go below utility lines. Hancock has a company come out and mark the utility lines and they had to hand dig about 10 posts at I think $14 per post. No big deal - better to be cautious than to cut a gas or phone line.

For a custom look, I recommend you order an iron cut-out for your gate. Very small cost but it really enhances the look of the fence. I have attached a front and back picture of the gate with cut-out. You can see how this gate is different than standard fence gates.

The Hancock website is the go-to source for knowledge about fence construction, hardware, do'sand don'ts, and most anything you could want to know about what makes a quality fence. Dutch says to and quot;price your fence by the years, and not the footand quot; and I will be disappointed if my new fence lasts fewer than 20 years! Here is how I would sum up Hancock fence: great people, highly responsive, competitive price, outstanding quality construction, and very easy to do business with!

We were in dire need of replacement of our 13 year old builder fence. I
had done months of on line research, driven around and looked at fences
in the area. I had narrowed it down to a couple of fence builders when
I read a Google review of another fence builder and found Hancock by
happenstance. I never place too much credence on Google reviews. I
look at them, especially the negative ones as someone just looking to
put down a business. There was no negative review of Hancock Fence but someone mentioned them in a review of another company.
I spent much time on the website of Hancock Fence, it is a great site, with a huge amount of information. I learned much just by surfing thru it. I wanted a fence that was built with screws and learned there are good screws and not so good screws. Hancock Fence has a gate design that they have developed and it is the best I have ever seen.
I contacted Hancock for an estimate which is easy. You can fill in your information on his website. What kind of fence you are interested in, a measurement of the linear feet of your fence. I just went out with the tape measure and entered the length and sent it to Dutch Hancock and in a couple of hours I received a general estimate. He came out the next day and measured the fence and discussed what I was looking for and that afternoon I had an estimate with all kind of options. We discussed what I wanted and scheduled the date for construction.
The crew arrived bright and early on Monday 11/19/12 and went to work. They spent three days constructing a GORGEOUS 8' Cedar Board on Board fence with Double Trim and a beautiful Cedar Top Cap. We went with the upgraded gates and love them.
The construction process was extremely professional. The crew did a fantastic job and left the yard in great shape. We had a couple of trees that created some difficulty but they worked around them with very little muss and fuss. I would highly recommend Hancock Fence if you are looking for a new fence.
I obtained a number of estimates and Hancock was NOT the low bidder. Their price was the highest one I received but after driving around and looking at fences built by all the builders I was convinced That Hancock Fence was the best. I Love my new fence!

I changed the options of the fence several times and even the area fenced was modified. Originally there was only 36' of shared fencing, but I opted to install another gate and take advantage of the entire length between our houses. This increased my portion of the total, but I gained my side yard as an enclosed area (perfect for a raised bed garden).
The fence is 8' around the rear perimeter and 6' along the shared boundary (cannot be seen except from the back yards). It looks amazing when complete and the craftsmanship is very good. They pay attention to small details like the crown of the boards (so they won't curl later). Another neighbor used a different company a month ago and the boards are already curling and you can see through them in areas (not exactly what you'd expect with a board on board). Also the nails won't rust down the boards on the Hancock fence (as they are on several fences nearby). It's the little things which make the difference. Even the cleanup was fabulous... they left nothing behind for me to clean up at all.
Hancock is the most expensive of the 4 quotes I received this year, but after physically walking around the neighborhood to inspect them I agreed they were better. I received an extensive list of references from Dutch, but they were all completed within the last 6 months. All fences look good the first month or two... even some for a year. The 3-4 year old fences around me (I remember seeing them built) still have signs from the builders. Two of the companies which had quoted me earlier were refused when I inspected their older fences... they wouldn't last 5 years without major repairs. Hancock's fences were still straight and in very VERY good shape.
They referred me to another company to stain it. I'll review them too in a few weeks.
