Do not use all my Sons moving, Use anyone else: The only thing that went well was talking to “Phil” Who took my phone call, listen to all the details of what I needed, and assured me that “we have professional movers who do this all the time, this will be no problem for them“. I set the reservation for Friday, September 3, 2020 with a showup time of “11 AM-1:00PM”. I was quoted $343 for two super experienced movers, the truck, fuel, and the two hour minimum. Failure #1: I received a phone call on September 3, 2020 at about 7:45 AM, from the mover himself telling me he was on his way to pick up the bed and should arrive around 8:00 AM. I told him I was promised an 11 o’clock-1 o’clock show up time and was working, and that no one would be at the pick up location until the scheduled time of 11:00 AM. The driver, “Luke“, said no problem, he will go pick up some tools and meet me at the pick up address at 11:00 AM. Not long after, I was called by “Doug“ who described himself as the operations manager, who said they need to come at 8:00 AM, or they would not be able to come until a later window of “11AM-4PM. Doug said because I did not answer the phone when he called to verify the details, that this is all they could do for me. I asked him about the reservation that Phil set up with me and his response was, “Phil is just a sales person, and he doesn’t know anything about our operational schedule or commitments. “What’s it going to be?“ Was Doug‘s comment and question to me. I called the owner of the building and he agreed to meet earlier than planned, and I disrupted my work schedule in order to make the pick up work by 9:00 AM. Failure #2: The first thing I discovered upon the arrival of the movers? “Luke“ told me he just started this job recently and that he is not a “mover“, but he was sure we can figure everything out. This was his response when I asked him if he has moved a lot of Murphy beds and if he has a lot of experience doing this? He said, “nope, this is the first time, but we can handle it“. Obviously, this is not a super experienced professional mover, and therefore everything will take longer than promised. Failure #3: upon arrival at my house, the movers asked for me to give payment before unloading the furniture. I agreed and was handed a payment demand for $697. This was over double the original quote, and the explanation was, it is going to take a lot longer to get the Murphy bed upstairs into the bedroom. Again, these were not experienced movers, and “Luke“ said many times, “we are going to have to think about this… We are going to have to figure something out…“. All my sons movers did not send me professional movers with experience and efficiency, they sent me someone they had just recently hired who is going to figure out how to do everything at my expense. I want to make sure you understand this, “Luke and Sam“ the team who came to move this Murphy bed, were awesome, polite, and did everything they could to make the move a success, however they had no experience moving and therefore took a lot longer than a “super professional experienced mover“ would’ve taken. Failure #4: I refuse to pay the nearly $700 because it was over twice the original quote, I was not sent experienced movers, and this high amount was justified because of how difficult it was going to be to complete it and therefore how much additional time would be required. Luke called Doug, and told him I had questions about the bill, at which time I spoke directly to Doug at the time of the unload. I reviewed my objection with him the cost , I told him about all the details about the move that Phil considered when he gave me the quote, and I asked Doug why he thought I should pay all of the extra time that is mostly explained by the inexperience of the moving crew that he sent to perform this simple job. Doug said, “if I had answered the phone when they called to confirm my move the day before, then we would not be having this conversation“. I asked him if I had ended my business meeting to take his call, what would be different? Would a more experienced crew have been assigned, would you have told me that the original reservation window at 11 to 1 would have been honored as Phil promised? I already paid a $100 deposit to secure my reservation, and yet Doug said nothing was secured because I failed to answer his phone call in the middle of my business day. I told Doug that his company needs to honor the reservation that was made with Phil and the time slot that I was promised need to be respected. Doug‘s response was, “since you didn’t answer your phone, you’re lucky we are even helping you at all“. Failure #5: after this treatment Doug, I instructed the movers to not do any relocation of the bed into the bedroom, but to simply offload it into my downstairs living room. This allowed them to 100% complete the move within the two hour minimum that had been originally quoted to me at “$343“. Luke spoke to Doug, and then Luke presented me with the bill for $393, $50 higher than what I was quoted by Phil for the two hour minimum. Even though the move was now completing within the two hour window, they increased the cost by $50, and I am now a hostage if I want to get my furniture off of their truck. I had a first class experience with Phil, in originally contacting and making the reservation and securing it with the $100 deposit. The moving team that was sent to disassemble, move, and reassemble the Murphy bed was not experienced, however they were great guys and I have no objection with them except to say that I would be forced to pay for their inexperience because a routine move would take much longer than it takes for an experienced, professional mover who have done this many many many times“. I had a horrible experience with Doug, who both invalidated the legitimacy of the quote for the amount, the pick up time, and the two hour minimum, who went so far as to say that I was lucky that they were even helping me at all. Doug did not respect original quote, he did not respect that my $100 deposit to secure the reservation at the time and price agreed-upon, and in the end he increased the cost of the move by $50 over the agreed-upon to our minimum cost of around $340. This is a terrible way to do business, and I will repeat this review on as many sites as necessary to let all my Sons moving know they cannot mistreat customers, not honor agreements, and so rudely say the customer is lucky to be served by them while at the same time being overcharged and mistreated.
