It seems that have improved their office services, and every time I have called, they have been responsive, friendly and professional. It's their field services that are really spotty and unreliable, however. They have been sloppy and unprofessional, ranging from leaving the cover on the controller open to leaving granular chlorine spilled around the pump and/or pool skimmers.
The most egregious was when I kept finding several chlorine tablet in the skimmer baskets every week. (Direct contact like that bubbles and degrades the baskets very quickly, and I doubt they will replace these for me free!) Then I realized the chlorine tower was offline entirely! It had been entirely disconnected from the pool lines and was sitting next to the pump. No one bothered to mention this to me. When I reported this to the office, they sent someone out to fix it - and of course, charged me for it.
When the pool guy came this week, he walked in the yard, looked at the pool and left. He didn't even walk onto the pool deck. When we made inquiries, we were told that he thought we were back on the every other week schedule and he was checking chemicals. No, he was not. In order to check chems, you actually have to touch the water, which he did not. He came sometime Friday, so I checked the pool this morning. The pressure was on 30 (it's supposed to be on 9), the controller box was left open and there was loose chlorine around. So I backwashed the filter, but when I went to add the perlite (a safer D.E. alternative), the scoop was gone. So I'm pretty irritated.
Although the office people are very sharp, the people who show up to do the work aren't. I need to have somebody I can trust. I don't want to feel that if I don't go check up after them every week, I am going to have some big problem that will mess up my equipment or pool surface, and I'll be paying big. It's time to look for a new service.
"4-13-2014 My name is Chris Myers and I am the President of the company and I take every complaint very seriously. If you have any questions about this please feel free to call me on my cell at 281-989-6297 or at the company 956-682-3377 x1010. This account is held under the name [removed member name]. We have had this customer on service since 2012. I have never met [removed member name] that filed this complaint. In 2012 I went to see the pool and I explained at that time the plaster was past its useful life and you could continue to use the pool but the plaster would remain etched, stained and pieces of the plaster would delaminate from the shell. At that time I told [removed member name] by NPC standards this was a text book re-plaster for this pool but the customer did not want to spend the money. We discussed the known repairs one being the chlorinator. At that time the only repair we were released to do was replace the pump after it failed. In this initial council and also in following conversations I told [removed member name] to keep this pool water looking blue and not green because of all the trees and the etching that existed on the surface the chlorine level needed to be kept higher than ideal and algaecide needed to be used monthly. In a pool where you have plaster that has a heater or has plaster that is not past its useful life you would purchase floaters to raise the chlorine level. This pool neither has an operating heater or good plaster. The pump nor grids in the filter are harmed by putting excess chorine in to raise the level. In June of 2012 The pool filter needed to be cleaned and the grids needed to be replaced. The customer when called stated it was a bad time to make this repair. As a company we did the repair at no cost to the customer because in order to do our job of cleaning the pool the filter grid needed to be replaced and cleaned. In that time I have never spoken to [removed member name] but I have spoken to [removed member name] a handful of times and she was always very nice in our conversations except a few years ago when there pool was cleaned and the water level was below the skimmers and she did not understand why the cleaning person closed her skimmers to avoid getting air in the lines and causing the pump to lose prime. Somebody called our office this week to change service to once every week different than the last two years. The cleaner went to the Home Wednesday to check chemicals and was advised the customer was changing to every week. [removed member name] contacted the office Thursday and I answered the phone and asked why the cleaner entered the yard but did not clean the pool. I called [removed member name] back and left a message as to what I stated above. Since Friday we have had very severe winds in the Edinburg Rio Grande Valley gusting to 40 miles per hour. The filter on this home is a DE filter. There is no cleaning system the norm for these types of pools is 15 – 25 lbs pressure we log this each time we go. This home backs up to an area that is loaded with new construction. Given the winds having the filter get loaded after a few days of 40 knot winds is normal. The accusation of theft is the most troubling. Why a customer would feel that Salvador would steal a plastic scoop that he can get for free is beyond me. We have in our shop no less than 10 of the scoops at the warehouse and normally the cleaners have several on a truck. I tried to contact the customer today and left a voice mail. We are not satisfying this customer and I think the proper solution here is to refund the customer for all April charges paid. We will clean the pool until the end of April gratis once a week allowing the customer to find a different company so they can be satisfied. As to the scoop we are going to add $10 to the refund. Christopher Myers"
Their skilled staff knocked the job out in half a day for a reasonable price. Now my house looks good as new and I couldn't be happier.
This quality work has made Eden my first call when we are ready to do a pool or landscaping project.
