Azhar's Oriental Rugs - McAllen

I have sent a complaint to the BBB regarding this company and received a reply.   My response is as follows.  :- "The issue under dispute is the condition of the 9' by 12' hand knotted pink wool Chinese rug given to Azhars for cleaning and returned by Irene Guzman and her young men to owner's home on 10/22/2011.     Photos taken earlier clearly show the rug having vibrant colors throughout.  There were no stains, tears or damage but the white fringes were dirty and needed cleaning.  On return the pink rug had pink streaks on both fringes and also an overlay of pink dye on the full rug.   The colors on the complete 1' border, on the corner designs and the central medallion are now dull and undefined.  Clearly the cleaning procedure used allowed the color in the rug to run. Irene Guzman dismissed the obvious color run, and insisted that it was the lighting in the room.  Turning  the rug round and close to the window did not change the obvious but she continued to maintain that the color had not run.  I did not give any compliments and waited for months for her response before sending a complaint to BBB and Angies List. Two highly respected  and recommended oriental rug cleaning companies in Houston confirmed that the pink color had run throughout. It is irreversible and thus the rug is permanently damaged.  "Spot cleaning" cannot repair the damage and is thus unacceptable.   Her men were tipped because they had done their job of placing the rugs correctly and even turning them around at her request. I have met Irene Guzman only once, the day of her delivery of the rugs.  After she was aware of my report she telephoned, harangued and verbally abused me.  It was not possible to speak during this long monologue with someone so clearly out of control.  At no time was I rude in return, inasmuch as she never let me talk.  In fact she said that I had had "many parties". (I have not had any) The only invoice which I received was on 10/8/11 and my maiden name was the only one used.  I was not given one on 10/22/11 and in the copy sent by BBB I noted that my full married name had been added.  Why would I have supposedly signed that invoice twice? A replacement of the same quality rug would be in order. However a  refund will not improve the discoloration of my rug and would be the minimal response of a good self-respecting business. My experience with this company has been very bad and I consider them to not only be grossly incompetent, blatantly dishonest but without integrity."  Clearly they do not honor their warranties nor guarantees.
