I’ve worked in construction since 2016 straight out of high school I currently work for a construction contractor but I am looking to take on other projects and continue to make customers proud , I’m very flexible, reliable and responsive. Very easy to get along with. The company that I currently work for understands that I do side projects, and supports it. U can look us up @ Quality Remodel San Antonio “QRSA” on google. We do residential & commercial, remodeling, doors, windows, walls, paint, ext…… u can also contact me directly at [email protected] & (210)-3269631

"Dani and Codi were great from the start. Very informative, very friendly, very courteous. It was a small plumbing job but they treated it as important as one of the big jobs. The price was very affordable. Would definitely call again. Thank you and sorry about the rusty old pipes."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Some welding projects, such as repairing pipes or fences, require travel, whereas others, like furniture repair, do not necessarily require the welder to come to you. Travel and overhead factor into the overall cost of your welding project. Some of the most common welding projects include:

  • Metal furniture repair: $35–$100

  • Pipe repair: $200–$1,000

  • Small gates: $550–$750

  • Fencing: $1,200–$1,800

  • Fabricated sheet metal welding: $750–$2,500

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.

Cutting rectangular ductwork requires careful measurements and the right technique. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the cutting lines accurately. Tin snips are excellent for straight cuts on smaller ducts. For more extensive or thicker rectangular ducts, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade is effective.

Ensure the duct is well-supported and secure while cutting to prevent wobbling and maintain precision. After cutting, use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges, ensuring safety during installation.

It will likely take an experienced pro less than an hour to install a ground rod, which is another reason why letting them handle the job is such a good idea. Safety concerns aside, it would likely take you much longer to install a ground rod if you decided to take this one as a DIY job.

The cost to weld aluminum averages about $14 to $22 per pound. The type of metal factors into the overall cost of any welding project due to the cost of the materials and the expertise required to work with it. Some of the most common metals used by welders include:

  • Magnesium alloy: $7–$16 per pound

  • Low-carbon steel: $11–$12 per pound

  • Stainless steel: $13–$15 per pound

  • Copper/brass: $24–$29 per pound

  • Cast iron: $38–$79 per pound

  • Titanium: $60–$85 per pound
