"It went very well. Wally and I spoke on the phone where I explained to him what I was looking for. It was difficult to find someone who was willing to do some simple plans without all the permitting details. I explained to him how things were done in rural Vermont and he accommodated us. We spoke with Wally a number of times over the phone and worked with him interactively on his drafting program. We ultimately went to his home and spent a couple of hours talking thru the plans and making changes while discussing limitations etc. It was a very productive and helpful meeting. We ultimately came out of that meeting with a set of plans that were tweaked a little afterward and used for permitting. We have received the permit and will start in the next week or two.

"Deck was excellently done, however I was dissatisfied with the roof portion of the project. He wasn't the highest bidder, and not the lowest. I really liked his presentation, and the quote was in my budget, so I hired him. He used excellent materials, and did a beautiful job on the deck portion, but with the metal roof, I was not happy. After he did the roof, I had several leaks, along the join line on the roof. I did call him to come back out, which he did and did some caulking and patching, because he has a year guarantee on material and work done. His patching efforts did not work, but he would not call me back, answer my calls, or come back out again, so I guess there is no guarantee. So, I ended up hiring a roofer, which cost me 1500 more, and the roofer told me that the patch job and roof over the deck was poorly done. I would recommend him as a deck builder, but never as a roofer."

He and his crew were prompt and upon completion of the beautiful patio cover, he did a major house siding recovering and then replaced our deck. "Everything ran excellent and in a very timely manner. All repairs, upgrades and exterior paint jobs were very well done. including any little unique details that they added. I am very satisfied with all repairs and will continue to hire them for any future projects. They explained, gave ideas and are very knowledgeable in their line of work.
