We contacted Thermal Mechanical Contractors to fix our broken air conditioner. The technician came out and charged the unit but later found a leak so he had to evacuate the unit and fix a leak and recharge it and he says he checked out the HVAC system and charged me for it. He first double billed us for the R22 refridgerant which we complained about and an adjustment was made. Then a week and half later the system failed again. We couldn't get ahold of Thermal Mechanical Contractors so another firm was called. They found a faulty contact that burnt up the control board. This new Contractor said the last company should have seen this and replaced it all of these extra charges could have been avoided for a simple part replacement. We had to pay an extra $1300 for something that should have been and could have been easily avoided.
Description of Work: A/C leak repair and refrigerant recharged.

The tenant contacted VS Regarding A/C not working properly/possible refrigerant leak. We located leak in the compressor discharge line, reclaimed refrigerant and repaired leak. Freon was mixed with existing refrigerant in reclaim cylinder. Cannot reuse in system – Texas law. Recharged and started system. Working will with RO temperature drop @ coil, Since we could not reuse exiting refrigerant, material charge was adjusted from $480.00 to $260.00 there was no “double billing”. Normal hours are M-F, 7:00AM to 3:30PM. After hours answering service received not calls for a call back. Contractor & Control board issues were not RT Catered to the leak, and are located in the exporator, section, separate unit. This information was obtained by contacting the tenant after receiving this complaint.
