Allied Fence Co

We hired Allied to install a fence and gate in our backyard because they are a local business and we trusted their good reviews, Better Business Bureau grade, and their two-year craftsmanship warranty. A few months after the installation, the gate started to loosen, and the gate latch became unusable (see photos) though we used it sparingly and had no external weather damage; the gate will not close anymore and we cannot put a lock on it. We use cinder blocks to keep the fence closed now. We emailed Allied and sent them photos and Carlos replied that it would be fixed “by the end of the week or the next week” (this was in June). He did not reply to our status inquiries in the subsequent weeks, but we received a call and email from project manager Garrett who offered to help months later. We texted him photos of the fence and he said, “we need to get this fixed for you” and acknowledged on the phone that we were in the two-year warranty timeframe. Since then, Allied has not fixed the fence nor provided any information about when they intend to honor their warranty. The project manager has repeatedly asked “did Allied install it” and “what’s your last name again” though our email chain included the original invoice and our names listed on it. Allied Fence and Security advertises quality work, great customer service, and a two-year craftsmanship warranty, but we are left with a poorly made and unusable gate and experienced bad customer service, plus not following through on their two-year craftsman ship warranty. For these reasons we question Allied Fence and Security’s reputation and trustworthiness, and we give them a one-star review. We would not recommend them and regret hiring them.

The sales guy was good until the contract papers were signed. Then it was extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone in the office to figure out when the job will be scheduled. All of them are unprofessional people. Instead of the original scheduled date, they suddenly called to reschedule the work on a weekend. The folks who came to do the work did a lousy job and did not complete the work. We had to hire a handy man later to finish all the work. Never do any business with this people.

This project was 100% driven by me. It was as if they didn’t want the job, which is insane. There were no updates unless I called, and their start date kept changing (even after assurances it wouldn’t). It was a horrible experience and I wish I had hired a different company.

I am very happy with how the job was quoted, schedule and communicated about. The crew was friendly and reliable.

They responded with a quote quickly and completed the project.

I'm very happy with my new fence. I'm not sure if I would recommend Allied, however, due to the poor communication. On several occasions, I was told by a receptionist or representative that someone would call me later in the afternoon, and yet no one would bother to call me back. The job had to be rescheduled multiple times, and on one of those occasions they didn't let me know until the last minute, which interfered with my work schedule. I was told the job *might* take 2 days due to the size of my fence. It took 2 days because they had to let the cement set around the posts overnight before putting up the pickets--they should have explained that when the job was scheduled so I would have been expecting it and could mention it to my neighbors (since we all have pets). The fence itself looks great and the workers were professional and left my yard clean. Communication with the company, on the other hand, was extremely frustrating.

The quality of materials was excellent. The job took a little longer than I hoped but I think that was because of the amount of rock that was encountered in digging the posts. They ran short a few pickets and I had to buy some plastic construction fence to cover the space so my dogs wouldn't run through my neighbor's yard but they reimbursed me for that. Once it was complete, I noticed a few pickets that didn't get nailed completely. Then came back out and fixed that the next day and left me a few ring-shank nails just in case. Since MOST of my neighbors realized the value of replacing a 20 year old fence and agreed to split the cost with me, Allied agreed to split the bills up so I could present each neighbor with his share of the cost.

The look around the property and discussion with Travis resulted in a very comprehensive plan and professional estimate. The crew were here as promised and they completed the job on time. The professional installation and the finished product are superior. The problem is that now my neighbors want redwood pickets.

Problems were: 1. Finding their office to discuss installation of fence was almost impossible. Just finding a fence company was a chore. 2. We had to keep calling to find out when we would be on the schedule. Small town and so you have to get in line which we are not use to that coming from a big city where there is plenty of competition, so in all fairness our C is partly do to small town services/big city services. Once we were on the schedule they were very responsive to keep us up to date on our scheduling. Rain bumped us back a few days. Quality: We have not had a chain link fence in over 30 years and the quality we had back then was so much better than today so we were comparing what we had to what we got. We had not really looked at any chain link fences in a while so our disappointment was more our fault. Customer contact: Contact person was very informative, upfront, pleasant and easy to work with. She smoothed out the wait and delays. Price: Again, we have not priced chain link fences so we may be all off in this point. We were just happy to find a place who could talk to us and that could put one in for us. All factors considered and after it has been installed we are pleased with the outcome and that is why we gave them an A in overall satisfaction.

Based on a neighbor's experience, I called Jerry at Allied Fence for a bid on my backyard fence. After I inspected my neighbor's fence, I was very pleased with their fabrication and installation methods. I then obtained other bids to compare Allied's bid, and found them to be competitive. After the city issued my permit, Jerry placed me on his installation schedule. I must tell you, I have never seen two men work so hard, in extreme hot weather, and complete my install in two days. Outstanding job!

I called for an estimate and Travis came out within a day. He listened and took notes, then provided me with a thorough bid within a day. I asked for a couple of changes, but each time the new estimate was back in my hands within a day. (Compared to two other fence companies I contacted, this was WAY more responsive!)
Once we agreed on the specifications, we set the date. There were several delays due to rain and other commitments, but their office manager kept me informed every step of the way.
On the final agreed-upon date, their crew showed up promptly. They worked steadily - no slacking off here! It took them two days, but they kept at it and were very thorough. They did a nice job on the fence, checking with me several times to be sure they understood exactly what I wanted. When it was time to clean up they were very thorough.
I would definitely work with this company again. They were extremely good about staying in touch and their work crew did a good job. I was delighted when they called the day after the job was finished to get my feedback! Very unusual in this day and time.
Definitely recommend them.

Allied did a great job of installing our fence, and while there were a couple of snags, they worked around them to my complete satisfaction - they made sure I was happy.    The fence looks great, and should keep the neighbors dogs out of my back yard.    Frank and Wilson did a great job on the install, and Charlotte was extremely helpful when we hit a hiccup.

I'm not going to recommend them. It turned out okay but it wasn't as smooth as the process I have expected it to be. The communication between the salesperson wasn't good. They got the install date wrong. There's a problem with the gate and with the post. I ended up having to yell and I didn't really enjoy that.
