About us

At Driftwood Builders, quality workmanship, excellent customer service and customer referrals are the life line of our business. We use only the best products and deliver the highest quality total roof systems available. From the ground it is nearly impossible to assess the damage that may exist on your roof. Our experienced team of professionals are available to give you a free, no obligation, honest assessment of you roof. Even moderate sized hail can cause severe damage to the shingles, causing granular loss and/or cracking of underlying membrane. If your roof has sustained damage, then your Homeowners Insurance Company is responsible for the cost of replacing your roof. Most insurance companies try to limit the dollar amount they intend to pay on their initial replacement cost estimate. Our team of professionals will work (negotiate) with your insurance carrier to make sure they are paying the proper amount of money, which allows you to receive the kind of quality roof you deserve. At Driftwood Builders we hang our hat on “QUALITY.” We guarantee the best roofing system for your home for the available money. I called Todd Munsinger of Driftwood Builders Roofing to give me an estimate to reroof my home. I found him to be punctual, detail oriented, straightforward, and a consummate professional. Of six roofers that I called to get estimates, he was the only one that visually walked me through my options and he was the only one that gave me a contracted quote on the spot. As I learned more about roofing alternatives from other estimators, Todd was always available to answer my questions with respect to his original bid. And, one of the things I liked best about working with him was that he gave me honest answers, even when he knew those answers would go on the “con” side of my ledger. No wishy-washy, just straight answers that helped me make the right decision for me. And his base prices were very competitive with other firms. In the end, because of some peculiarities with our particular home, we made the tough call to go with a different firm, but I would recommend my pre-commitment experience with Driftwood Builders Roofing to all. It is the way business should be done.

We used Driftwood Builders after the last hail storm. While there were a bunch of migratory companies coming through town, I didn't feel like there would be anyone around to warranty their work. I am really glad we did, because they were efficient and used high quality product. My roof has held up much better than some of my neighbors. They have even come out to inspect it a couple of times since, and didn't use it as an opportunity to make more money. Truthful and honest. That's what I look for in a contractor. Could not imagine using anyone else.

Several years ago, I purchased a new home built by DR. Horton. Shingles flew off during a windstorm and I had to fight the builder to repair it because the roof was past its 1-year-warranty. A year later, it happened again. This time I was on my own, so I reached out to Driftwood Builders Roofing. A representative came out the next day and was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He instantly discovered that the installers had blown nails too far into the shingles, which is why they were not holding as well as they should. He installed a temporary patch and came back a few days later for a more thorough investigation. Instead of needing to replace the entire roof, their crew was able to replace the damaged shingles and add nails throughout the roof to better secure the shingles that were incorrectly installed by DR. Horton. Their timing was impeccable, and I felt I was in good hands throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Driftwood Builders Roofing and couldn’t be happier with their service.

We had the pleasure of working with Blake during a very stressful time trying to get our home ready to list. He came out and did a full inspection of the roof, gave us detailed notes on what needed to be repaired and went above and beyond by trimming back some tree branches that were rubbing against shingles and others that would’ve grown close quickly. Blake was friendly and professional and helped us get our gate (separate project) to the back yard rebuilt and installed within a 48 hr time frame that we needed it done by. Again, above and beyond. Would definitely recommend Driftwood based on our experiences!

They did not ask for money up front. They came back and checked on the finished product before receiving the final payment and made certain we were happy with the job. I would recommend this company to everyone! Our insurance deductible was $800.

Had a large roof with a dormer on the back that was added about 11 years ago. The crew peeled down to the wood and had to replace the sheeting in several areas due to water damage, including under a DIY bracket I installed on the slope side over the garage for a basketball hoop that is no longer used (we all grow up). All the water damage was consistent with internal signs, so it was a relief to see them fixed. The new 'tar paper' is actually a polymer mix, so it should be more durable. Brought along their own port-a-potty and cleaned up very well afterwards. Nailed down with nails and not staples (6 per shingle). Finished in less than 2 days, and this was with a late start on the 1st day due to unexpected work on the previous job (they worked until dark the 1st day). They clad all the vent stacks that weren’t already in lead and installed fresh metal flashing on all. They also painted all the stacks to match the color of the new roof. The new roof looks great, and I feel better knowing that all the water-damaged areas (one ran next to the dormer) are all repaired.

After a hail storm my insurance company determined that the entire roof, gutters and some window screens needed to be replaced. I was dreading the process but, luckily, I found Driftwood Builders Roofing. This is a company that you can trust. Todd answered all my numerous questions and explained the process to me. The staff showed up when expected. They were careful and thorough, removing all the old shingles and all the layers of felt and replacing all damaged wood. They are GAF Master Elite installers, working quickly but with a great attention to detail. We had skylights, gutters and window screens to replace and all of these installations were done promptly and well. After completion of the roof, they cleaned up my entire yard, which was quite a large task. The price was great and the new roof looks beautiful! I will hire them again when I need roof work.

Great! Representative Blake Andrews was involved and very helpful during every step of the process, including accompanying the adjuster as he inspected the roof. He kept me informed along the way and visited the job site to make sure I was satisfied with the work. The crew did an excellent job of cleaning up after the work was completed.

This was my first time having to deal with a roof replacement after a recent wind storm. Since the roof is a major part of my house, I was not looking for the cheapest roofer, I wanted a quality company that did quality work and would stand behind their work. I called three roofers out to discuss replacing the roof, one of them being Driftwood Builders Roofing. Todd came out and was very straightforward about the damage he saw, my options and what his company would do. Todd gave me a detailed list of materials to be used and work to be done in his initial quote (none of the other roofers provided that much detail). I talked to several homeowners in the neighborhood who had chosen Driftwood Builders to replace their roofs several years back and all of them said they were very pleased with the company and the work done. My neighbors’ feedback reinforced my initial impression of them…a professional, detail oriented group that is interested in quality work. I chose Driftwood Builders Roofing and am glad I did. Todd and the company did exactly what was discussed in our initial meeting, which is how working with a roofing contractor should go in my opinion. You don’t really know about a contractor until they start doing the work and a focus on the details is what makes a difference. I knew I had picked the right roofer when the crew showed up with their own port a potty. The crew came to work (not talk on their phone or listen to loud music) and even had one person cleaning up throughout the day so there were no piles of debris and trash laying around. They finished quickly, the roof has no leaks and I have already had a couple of neighbors say “hey, that’s a nice looking roof”. In my opinion, this is a professional group that actually cares about the quality of their work and about my roof (almost as much as I care about it).

We chose Driftwood because the roofing representative, Nathan, was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about their services. He handed me a folder full of very professional looking handouts, some of which were copies of awards that Driftwood has received in the past. He stressed that their company went the extra mile to make the process as smooth and easy as possible. He assured me that all debris would be collected each day. He assured me that landscaping would be protected/covered from any debris. Unfortunately, very little was covered, including our swimming pool. There were at least 10 roofing nails thrown in our pool. When I complained about the nails in the pool, Nathan told me the wind blew them into the pool. There were many roofing nails thrown down into our bushes. We picked up at least 25 nails after the crew left. Many were in areas that even a strong wind could not have blown them to. This could have all been avoided if they would have taken the time to cover our landscaping and our pool. The compressor they used burned 8 different areas of our grass. The first hour that the crew was here, I found one of the workers on my back patio, twirling around in a patio chair and talking on his cell phone. I should have taken that as a sign to stop the process and find someone else. The crew leader was extremely rude and had an attitude toward us from the beginning. Consequently, the other 3 crew members had the same attitude. I have never seen a worse representation of a company that presents itself as a top company in the roofing industry. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Nathan does a good sell, but in the end, the crew that does the work is what really counts. We have two neighbors on our block who did not use Driftwood, and they had a very positive experience. Do your homework and talk to several people before choosing a company. I made the mistake of only talking to one.

"[member name removed], Thank you for your response. It is very disheartening to know you were not happy with our performance. Unfortunately even covering the pool does not guarantee nails will not make it into the pool. The gauge of performance needs to be, did we get the nails out of the pool since again it's nearly impossible to keep them out while replacing the roof. The answer is YES we did. If you found 25 or so nails we apologize as we try to get them all before we leave. Since there were approximately 7,000 nails on your existing roof you can see we got close to getting them all, but not close enough. More than likely it was the cut pieces of shingles that burned small areas of your lawn (never seen a compressor do that) due to the heat in central Texas during June. It typically takes a little water and the grass comes back. Replacing a roof, especially one the size of your roof, takes multiple days of working sun up til sun down in the 90+ degree heat on a very steep slope. It's a construction zone and there's no way around creating a mess. If we did not give you the proper heads up that it would be very messy then that too was our mistake. Since it is now November of 2015 and we replaced your roof in June of 2015 and it has not leaked during the 8+ inch rains we've received I take it your roof is holding up well. If not, please let us know and we will get it taken care of. Driftwood Builders Roofing"

He climbed onto my roof, inspected the entire roof and took pictures which he then forwarded to me.  Then we discussed the estimate for the job and the amount of time it would take to complete the work.  He also said how long the wait would be until the job could be started.  The job was started right away and was finished within a few hours.  My husband and I are VERY pleased with how everything went; not only leading up to the repair, the repair itself, and the professionalism exhibited by Tom Baker and his crew.

Todd determined that it may be an issue with our Chimney Cap and that it may not be the roof. We appreciate the fact that he recommended investigating that before automatically tearing up our roof.  We will call Driftwood Builder's if it turns out that it is a roof issue!

Previous review was negative.  After discussions with the owner I am removing that review and replacing with a more positive review.  The negative review was in most part due to communication breakdown regarding contract and what was to be performed.  As discussed with owner, communication is among one of the most important aspects of any service provider and  sometimes the customer is wrong...I was in this case and apologize for my part in the misunderstanding.  Appreciate the call from the owner and the explanation provided. After service was performed discussions would have stopped the negative review.

"[member name removed], Thank you for taking my call and discussing the finer points of communication with me. We strive continually to improve our communication skills at Driftwood Builders Roofing and sometimes (definitely true in your case) we fail to fully and properly communicate. I called you in order to learn where we had gone wrong with our service and in turn I was able to learn a lot from you. This will help Driftwood Builders grow in the future.
