New Yards Landscaping (Design & Installation)

John was amazing, professional and very hands on and informative during the entire process. The quality of the plants and services were super and we learned a lot about different trees and plants and how to care for them. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining everything. We will definitely use New Yard Landscaping again and highly recommend him.

John and his team did a great job! John listened to our ideas and made many helpful suggestions. His many years of experience of landscaping locally was very valuable. He identified that we had a drainage issue (we had never even thought about that! But it is a common problem in East Texas) and took steps to remedy it. He also suggested and made some simple additions to our sprinkler system to meet the water requirements of our new plants — something else we had not thought about. Very pleased we chose John to work with!

John is brilliant at hardscape design and installation. He has a good selection of plants and though he's not inexpensive he does work with you to keep the cost down.

John is the best of the best. If you are like me, you will understand how difficult it is to find a landscape contractor with vision. I needed help understanding what is needed in my backyard and John was there. John allowed us to tour his home to see what we like or dont. The amount of trees and bushes he has to choose from is incredible. I could go on forever about this amazing and honest man. The quality, value, and professionalism is worth every dollar we spent upgrading our yard. I look forward to seeing how beautiful and private our yard is once spring comes. John will forever be our go-to for our landscape needs. Trust me, you wont find anyone better in the area.

John listened to what we wanted - less maintenance, color, and design. John's knowledge of plants was exceptional. From start to finish he made sure we knew what he was proposing. He and his crew were very nice to work with and always on time. They were willing to answer our questions and redo anything we did not like. Our yard is beautiful with neighbors always complimenting. To say that John is passionate about his work would be a massive understatement. With a recent house purchase our back yard was mundane and lacked the privacy we desired. When John came out to our home for the first time, he didnâ t hesitate with his recommendation and really explained why he would go the direction he was advising. John allowed us to tour his nursery and hand select the trees that we wanted to have planted â his property is amazing and completely sold us on hiring John and his team. The day of arrival, they were prompt and worked with us patiently to spot the trees and provided suggestions along the way. From start to finish, we were very pleased. If you are looking for a landscaper, do not hesitate with hiring this company. p.s. â we have already hired him again for two additional trees on the outside of our property and have planned for future â phase 2â work in the next year.

John and his crew were professional and efficient! John guided me in selecting the plants I like and how to care for them. He had great ideas for updating my old and worn out landscaping. John was out with the crew and was hands on with the project from start to finish. Looks beautiful!

john really knows his plants and landscaping. he has an efficient team and made options possible. he gave me several of these options with me choosing the one most affordable to my budget. there was some confusion about the final charge but we agreed to find a middle road, as john appeared to be a fair and honest man.

John and his crew did an outstanding job. We were refreshing a 20 year old landscape that had been allowed to run wild. John helped us throughout the process, what will grow, what won t, planting spacing, planting location, clean up of the plants and trees we kept. And finished with instructions on fertilizing, spraying, and trimming. John is extremely knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing his knowledge. He even went as far to invite us to his personal property so we could see a mature landscape that had been properly maintained. I believe we have started a lasting relationship. I highly recommend his services.

John and his crew were the absolute best. He goes over the design of the beds and what plants do best in that area. My only regret is not knowing him 20yrs. ago. He explained how to take care of the plants. He designed the gardens and plants to go with our colonial style home. It was much more beautiful than we expected and was finished in one day! The did everything in front yard. We took out everything because we remodeled and wanted a new look I love the finished job. My front yard looks amazing. We are now hiring them to pave side of home and driveway

Very easy to work with -- spent time really looking at the front and back yards and made recommendations on what needed to be done. The job was started and completed timely and we're pleased with the final result. It was nice to have someone knowledgeable look at the yard and let us know his thoughts on improvements.

Best of all, he did a terrific job that exceeded our expectations. The new plants he selected are beautiful. Our front and back yards have never looked this good.

I have never worked with contractor who was as much a visionary as John. He turned our yard from and aged assortment of overgrown mishmosh into a beautiful up to date showpiece. Every one in our neighborhood has complimented his work! John also knows how to bring the best team to the job. We had over 1,000 SF of pavers installed by his sub Roberto...his team was amazing....exacting, meticulous and old school perfect. John, Roberto and Israel’s workmanship is without peer in the Houston area. I must add that John was far from the lowest bidder on our project, but I can guarantee his work product was worth EVERY penny. By the way, this review is coming from someone that deals with $100 million construction projects on a regular basis at work. This project was as good as any I have ever done! I would recommend New Yards over any competitor, hands down!

I am Very happy With John and his crew"s work. John is very knowledgeable about landscape plants and offered good suggestions. I also really appreciated the time he took to help me understand what I need to do to maintain the plantings. All in all a very good experience. I would highly recommend this company.

John & his crew are great - so easy to work with & made it a pleasure to plan the landscaping. We live in a ranch-style community & prior landscapers wanted to use plants that required lots of water, attention & seemed to be favorites for the deer. John lives in our area & really knows his plants & how to design a landscape - the yard looks beautiful! We’re happy to report the deer checked out the plants but don’t seem interested. My husband already has two additional projects lined up with John.

They were very fast to get started. I had tried to hire other landscapers before Steven's Custom Landscape. Before they could come out to give me an estimate, Steven had already started. He work was very professionally.
