While doing preseason service, technician identified faulty capacitor. Also, advised of poorly installed ac drainage lines, that likely is root cause to overflow and interior leaking that we have experienced. Professional, trustworthy.

I have used J-Tech for the past 6 years to perform routine maintenance and service on my AC unit. I have always been pleased with their competence, professionalism, and fast response time. They are very thorough, extremely fair and I will definitely hire again.

I have a home warranty policy with American Home Shield and placed a request for service on the AHS website at 10 pm Tuesday night. By 9:45 am the following morning I received a call from a scheduler at JTech Mechanical informing me that a technician could be at my home between 10:30 am and 2 pm with a 30 minute call to notify me of his arrival.
I received a call from the technician at 10:45 and by 11:05 he had arrived to diagnose the problem. The technician (James Taylor) was professionally dressed and asked me to describe the problem in detail. We went to the outside unit and he promptly diagnosed a bad connection on a capacitor wire that had become hot and caused the wire to fail. Instead of just replacing the connection, the technician took the extra step to replace the wire in its entirety and thoroughly inspect all other wires and the contactor for additional damage/issues.
Upon reassembling the unit and starting the compressor, the fan presented a grinding sound. The technician then disassembled the unit once again, tested the motor and determined it too needed to be replaced. He then replaced the fan motor from available parts on his truck and replaced the associated capacitor. Finally he tested all voltages and the compressor capacitor and reassembled the unit again. He then proceeded to check all pressures and noted a slightly low Freon condition. He then added the recommended amount of Freon and went inside to check the operation of the system.
I found the Technician to be friendly, professional, knowledgeable and extremely thorough. I was impressed that his company provided an amply supplied inventory of parts on his service truck which made the service call both quick and efficient.
My AC system is 31 years old. Most technicians would have tried to just sell me a new system (and many have), but James and JTech Mechanical did me right. They fixed what needed to be fixed and did it at a fair price and were extremely responsive in responding to my service call.
I know that service companies that perform service for insurance providers like American Home Shield do so at a very deeply discounted rate, but James treated me like one of his VIP customers and not like a low profit margin insurance work order.
I have had five separate service providers work on my AC system over the past few years. I have to say that JTech Mechanical was the best and I would definitely call them again to service my AC system when the need arises.

The technicin arrived as scheduled and proceeded into my attic where the HVAC unit is located. Upon "inspection" of the unit, he determined that the unit was imporperly installed and the drain pan was rusted out. The tecnician blew air through the drain line which did nothing to fix the problem. He then stated to the warranty company that the unit was not installed correctly and as a result the drain pan had rusted out and water was draining into the Plenum. Had the tecnician opened the unit and done a full inspection, he would have seen that the drain pan is in decent contition and not leaking at all. He also would have noted that it is not possible for the drain pan water to drain directly into the Plenum as there is a 4"-6" difference between the pan and the face of the Plenum. The root cause of the problem was calcium build up around the opening of the drain pan drain line. The water was getting into the Plemun becasue of the down force of air from the coils causing a splash. Over time the water just made its way to the corner of the unit...probalby because of a tilt. This would likely be the "improper installation" he was speaking about. To add further insult, J-Tech somehow forgot to order the drain pan. This only became apparent after three weeks of me calling them and asking the staus of the orderd and "special made" pan. Everytime I called, I was told that I would get a call back. I received a total of 1 call from J-Tech in the entire two months that I was dealing with them. After finally resolving the fact that they had failed to order the drain pan, I was informed by 2-10 that J-Tech was not going to install the drain pan unless I also agreed to have them replace the Plenum at a cost of nearly $1200.00. I would not agree to this without first getting additional quotes for the service. J-Tech was never informed that I was not going to proceed with the install, but refused to do the work and the service claim was closed by the warranty company.
In any case, I now have a hole in my cealing becasue of water leaking that could have been stopped if the technician had simply done a little better inspection. I managed to fix the issue in about 5 minutes after about a month of waiting on the company to come replace the pan. To this day, I have not had a single drop of water from the unit, which proves it was simply a matter of cleaning the opeing to the drain line and not a rusted out pan or improper install.

"On August 12th our technician ran the call at [member name removed] house. The diagnosis was a water leak in the attic, coil drain clogged and water overflowed into the plenum. The suggestion was that the customer needed a plenum, drain pan and float switch. The technician did blow out the drain. The work was called in to 210 and it was determined what 210 would cover and would not. Originally they were to supply the drain pan. Because of the coil style they couldn't find one so if we were contracted to do the work we would have it made. Our phone calls with [member name removed] seemed as if he wanted the work done however the owner of Jtech never got an acceptance of charges from the warranty company so he never approved the pan to be built. We do not know if [member name removed] was advised of the charges but we turned them in.That then becomes the warranty company's responsibility. When we called to verify this we found out that in fact he did not ever accept charges and all of the people that he talked to at the warranty company never read the notes to that fact. We were never going to just replace the pan only. We would do all of the work or none at all. It is our responsibility and if we do it half way and there was further damage, we would be responsible for it. I cant comment on it only being a calcium deposit that was causing the problem because I wasn't there and I didn't see it. Bottom line is...[member name removed] never accepted the non covered charges and the owner of the company never got an acceptance email so he never approved the pan to be built. There may have been a communication breakdown in if the pan was being built or not but for the owner of J-Tech who makes the decisions there was never any doubt that unless the customer accepted the charges for the work to be done the pan was not going to be built."

Initially, this provider no-showed & lied to my spouse that I had canceled the appointment. My spouse was home all day & lost business waiting on them to show up. On a subsequent visit they were late. While inside the 90+ heat inside my home, he stated my air conditioners were "mechanically" sound & no further repair was warranted or allowed through America Home Shield, although one had frozen over. Before he wrote up the invoice for his visit, I asked him how much life were left on our units & he replied "10 years ago". Yet, without even knowing the history or our service & care of our units, he wrote on the invoice, that in 12 years, the units have never been cared for. The he charged us for Freon but would not advise us if we had a leak unless he was called back again for the same issue. He said the Freon would solve some of the problem. It didn't. My spouse told him to stop & we told him to leave our property & never return, although we had to pay for the Freon he said he had placed in one of the units wh...
