I paid him in full on Friday. He was paid a total of $1800. After he was leaving, he came back and asked to use our Wi-Fi. He wanted to print an invoice. I asked for him to email it, but he wanted to use my telephone and Wi-Fi. He then went out to his truck, but he somehow generated a new invoice on which he added $90 for hourly work, and another $50 for flagstone, and another $100 for plants I did not even get. That Friday when he was supposed to be staining the fence, he instead dug up the sod on my neighbor's property and put down gravel and stepping stones and bricks from my yard. I told him he should check with the neighbor to see if he wants this, but the contractor insisted. The neighbor ended up saying it was ok, but the company then wanted to charge me for the work he was doing in my neighbor's yard. He did not put down grass seed for me that he said he did. I had arranged with him that he would be coming twice a month every month for the next year to maintain the yard. He did not put the flagstone down on sand, but mulch instead. He had his kid doing this part of the job incorrectly. The mulch was supposed to go by the rose bushes. I then received another email invoice from him saying I was paid in full in the message, but the lines on the invoice claim I owe over $400 more dollars at this point. He also charged more to haul something away, but we did not have anything hauled that I know of. The yard looked nice in the end, but he keeps trying to charge me for things I do not owe. He added lights around the bushes I did not ask for and said it was a surprise - indeed it was a surprise on the invoice.

"Unfortunately there was miscommunication between my client and myself during the installation. Client asked to cover a larger area than originally agreed with Mexican feather grass. Also instead of using the brick client had on site she decided the flagstone look was more appealing so she asked to have the ENTIRE walkway in flagstone. I take full responsibility as i should have addressed the cost increase at that moment. Instead i assumed the client was aware that with additional material came additional cost. I explained the first itemization was a Estimate. After delivering the final bill client was very upset. After speaking with her and her husband I apologized for the inconvenience and declined the 49$ check they offered to cover the 231.00 balance. I expressed to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] gratitude for their business and declined to service the yard to avoid any other misunderstandings. The "neighbor" hired us to service his yard by trimming tree,installing flower bed edging , cut trim blow, and mulch removal and replacement. his review is available and i will place him as a reference . As far as Mrs. [Member Name Removed] is concerned I decided to add solar light as accents at no cost which she thoroughly enjoyed up to the point when it was time to pay the final bill.
