JD"s Small Engine Repair

We have JD pick up the tractor for service. We told him to not do the work if it was more the $300. He worked on the tractor and charged us over $600, he said that he forgot to call us even though it was on the work order. Within a month we experienced the same problem. We had him pick up the tractor because it was under warranty for the previous repairs. he made some different changes, not covered by the warranty, another several hundred dollars. One my second time mowing with the tractor the problem happened again. Contacted JD and he said it was a different issue. Long story short we spent well over a thousand dollars to not have the problem fixed. I took the tractor to a different shop and they found the problem in 20 minutes, a broken wire. They fixed it without a charge. My advice to you is be very careful using JD. It cost us a lot of money for nothing in return.

We brought a side X side in because it would not start. Thats all we wanted him to do is to find why it would not start. We picked it up paid the $400+ for alot of work that he did without our consent unrelated to the starting issue, unit did start when we left his buisness. We got home and it did not start, the sprokets were not lined up, the chain fell off, bolts were missing off side x side near chain. He states he has a 30 day warrenty, so brought it back Monday and told him that it still won't start and to honor the warrenty, and to please not do any unrelated work other than what we requested which was to replace the bolt that was missing and the still not starting issue. Also requested that he keep us updated before performing any work. He called at mid day to inform me he again had been working on it since 8am again on something we had asked him not to work on, We told him to only look at what is under the warrenty nothing else. So we proceed to pick it up today and he charged us ANOTHER $400+  for work he had done AGAIN WITHOUT NOTIFYING US and it still doesnt start!!!!, He would not release property until bill was paid in full. I have 800+ dollars of new washers bolts and nuts fuel filter and battery on a piece of equipment that will still not start, He did offer to install a starter if i purchased one (which he says is the starting problem and in my opinion should have been diagnosed initially) at a discounted fee but i would still be obligated to pay the second 400+ dollars.
