I took over the banking for my elderly parents. The folks at the Alto branch stayed late to allow me to bring my parents in after I got off of work in order to open an acct. for them. We are not talking about a bank catering to a wealthy client, i work for the state and my parents are on Social Security.
My father, not once, but on many occasions over a 12 month period, overdrew the acct. Time and again, always with patience and kindness, the tellers went over the accts. and showed my father where he had messed up. After 12 months, I took pity on the fine ladies at the Alto branch, closed the acct. and made my father open an acct. at a bank right by his home and made him solely responsible for his banking.
Through it all, the folks at Alto Bancorpsouth were patient and long suffering. Those women should have gotten combat pay for all they did for me. I know that probably groaned every time they saw me pull up with my parents in tow, or pulled their hair out after getting off the phone with me after helping me straighten out the account, yet again, but they never showed their frustration.
They always seemed genuinely happy to see me and acted as if it were an honor to help me. I have transferred money between my acct. and the acct. of a friend of mine with a simple phone call as the folks there know us both. THAT IS HOME TOWN BANKING AT ITS FINEST.
If I won the lottery, I would sink my entire winnings in the Alto branch of Bancorpsouth.

I have been dealing with them for many years. The overall experience is excellent. They are punctual, responsive, and professional. I will continue to use this service.
