In March 2018, my parents had the owner, Cliff Chandler come over for an estimate of their pool renovation. He wanted to take it on and said he’d be able to start the next month in April. Expected completion would be July 2018. First day he showed was May 29th and he tore down their old pool. A huge mess was expected with the big equipment they used, but he didn’t show back up to clean up the mess and begin work on the new pool until July. He installed the retaining wall of the new pool, but didn’t come back for weeks leaving the wall un-cemented so it was too weak and the frame bent. He then had to take part of the frame off, bend it straight, then reinstall. Frame was finally fixed July 30. Didn’t come back until September 23rd to do a little more work where it then sat until March 13, 2019. Finally, after my parents tried calling Cliff for months, they had no choice but to have their attorney contact him and send him a letter of demand. Cliff did not take that well and was extremely inappropriate with my dad and (at the risk of sounding dramatic) slightly threatening on the phone after receiving the letter of demand. The letter which was sent for him to simply complete the project that had been paid for as he was paid in full at the beginning of the project (per his requirement to even begin the project). Eventually Cliff sent his guys to add the concrete and lining which was done in September 2019. The pool never got finished. It was swimmable, but the lining was never seamed to the steps, and the exposed raw concrete inside the pool never got covered. At that point we were just happy to have a pool our family could enjoy again. Fast forward to December 2021, their pool has a leak. A pipe in the bottom by the drain. Something they would have to have completely dug up and ripped out to fix. So for that last year my dad has to add water to the pool every few days to keep it at the correct level to keep the lining in tact. He can’t winterize the pool or the lining that was never sealed will come up. We all tried to call Cliff after seeing it begin to leak last year to which we received zero correspondence. It’s been a nightmare and extremely strenuous on our parents dealing with Cliff Chandler. It was detrimental to my dad’s health and a lot of money for a job that’s not only incomplete, but leaking. He deserves to go out of business. My parents only fault was being too nice and patient for too long. At the end of the entire ordeal, he left all of his junky equipment and never returned for it and didn’t respond to phone calls or emails regarding the equipment being picked up. My parents eventually paid another company to come move all of the equipment just to get it out of their backyard.
