Mike Riedel began working on our home to rectify and remediate the Behr Paint problem exacerbated by Matthews Painting on July 13, after having accepted a contract with Behr Paint addressing multiple issues on July 10, 2012. On Friday, July 13, he scheduled Carpet Tech to come to our home to inspect the damage to the house, furniture and furnishings caused by Steve Matthews Painting, who had been here from May 28-July 28. 2012. Mike represented himself as a ?super hero? who could rectify the damage and leave us with a ?habitable? home within 6-8 weeks. At this time, he offered to paint the walls with latex and the woodwork with oil based paint while waiting for the ?Behr contracted primer? to dry for the cost of materials, since everything would be prepared ? windows taped off, hardware and registers removed? He taped off rooms of our home and requested that we not enter, as paint was ?drying?. We were shown duplicitous progress on occasions and were told that the baseboards would be painted last. Several times he reported having to ?re-do? woodwork, as he had ?put his hand in wet paint? or the work did not meet his stringent requirements. He often criticized the dogs entering his ?cordoned off? workspace and accused them of wetting on his drop cloths. We were guaranteed that he would provide a thorough checklist of the work to be completed at the onset of this project and that he would work through the house in an orderly fashion completing a room or section of rooms at a time. We have never seen it! On Friday, October 12, 2012, we came home from a doctor?s appointment to find a ?bill? taped to the front of the house and Mike and all of the supplies were gone. He left his trash neatly bagged on our back porch. Mike has spent 75 days in our home and not one room is completed. He averaged 28 hours a week working in our home.
