Now for the landscape part of this review. We contracted Paradise in March 2013, but were put off for the Parade of Homes because of the loss of several crews, therefore delaying the project until May 2013, which was probably a blessing as we had 2 more freezes. When the crew finally showed up, they had no plot map indicating where the new plants were going to be placed and the architect didn't seem to be available. I had to direct the crew, even showing them how to place the plants. Mostly, they just jammed the plants in without regard for placement or the plant. Not all the plants on the original order were available (we weren't charged for these) and the landscape architect has yet to contact us about the plants that are not doing well. The main reason for the "F's" is there was hardly any communication between Paradise and us, and Paradise and its crews. When we called, we were told that either "..the architect was not available", "..you are penciled in", "..you are on the schedule", "..the plants aren't in yet", "I have no idea"or "Let me call you back:. Paradise very rarely got back with us and as far as on the schedule, we weren't. Some of the plants that were selected and approved by the architect were not even suitable for the Lubbock area. A couple of the plants were substandard and not doing well and when we were billed for the landscaping, they forgot 5 plant, (which we let them know about). All services have been paid for.
All in all, we are very disappointed with Paradise's performance as a professional Landscaper. They definitely need to communicate better within the organization as well as with their customers.
"we would like to apologize for dropping the ball on your project and not ever getting back in touch with you. I understand your frustration and disappointment and I also understand that this will in no way make up for the unprofessional manner in which we treated you; however, I would like for you to know that we have since implemented some checks and balances within our company to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else. Again, my sincerest apologies and I do hope that someday you might consider giving us a second chance."
Generally not pleased with the quality of the work
"We have no records of this person contacting our company for any services."
Took a month to put in the sprinklers. Three days later put in the sod but hadn't checked to make sure the sprinklers worked. They didn't.
New lawn went 24 hours before watered. Took several nasty phone calls to get someone to come out.
Took another THREE weeks and four visits to finally get sprinklers working.
"This customer had a well that was pumping up sand and had a very poor gallon per minute well, the sand caused the nozzles of the sprinkler heads to clog, we cannot control when the sod farm will deliver our grass. That part is out of our control and we are at their mercy as to when we can actually get it."
