I contacted Brandon W. from the information provided on Angie's List. He responded to my initial phone call within the week and we set a date for him to come by and look at the trees. He arrived on this date on time. We walked my property and I pointed out three trees that needed trimming and the Bradford Pear that needed repair. He gave me a very competitive pricing well below others. He quoted me $500 to trim and shape a very large Honey Locust tree that I share with my neighbor. He quoted me $350 to trim and repair a large Bradford Pear tree and $75 to trim another tree. He stated he was very busy and it would be three weeks before he could get to my job. We agreed on a date.
Brandon W. and his team arrived on the designated date and began work on the trees. I mentioned to him that my neighbor had another tree service come out and look at the Honey Locust...This arborist noticed the tree root fungus (root rot)...I pointed it out to Brandon and he called an arborists and determined that the other guy was correct...The tree did have root rot and there was no treatment to remedy it...The tree might last 1 year or 10, but it would eventually fall. My neighbor and I agreed to take the tree down rather than risk the damage to our houses...Brandon agreed to do it for $1800 while he was doing the other trees...They completed the tree removal and trimming in about 2.5 days...
They did excellent work. Brandon's tree trimmer was amazing. They took the tree down in two days that was 40 ft. tall and had a 40 ft umbrella without any damage to the landscaping around the tree...The only issue I had was that Brandon did not catch the root rot in his initial evaluation...If you have diseased trees you might want to call an arborist...Big Timber Tree Service will be doing all my tree trimming from now on!

They did great work,, were fast, and and were very courteous and safe. There was a 7ft tall fence behind the tree and they were very careful to not damage it, as well as stay out of the electrical lines overhead.

After reading the good reviews here, I called his office and spoke with the appointment person, but when he didn't respond within a week, I called again and spoke directly to the owner who said he'd just gotten my message of a week ago. He agreed to come out and he did, and was honest in stating he was behind d/t large amount of business, but agreed to trim my big tree in back yard, install bracing to new tree in front yard to straighten out trunk, and trim cedar limb of neighbor's cedar tree overhanging/scraping roof of tool shed in back yard. Estimate was for $300+. Counting the delay of one week in his replying, and then his crew's not arriving until 2-3 weeks later, by the time the work was began, a bird couple had built their nest on the branch I'd wanted to have cut and we'd watched this bird couple sit on their nest through horrible hail and rain storms and didn't want to now destroy their home so that job was nixed. The tree that needed to be braced in the front yard was deemed too slender to use they method they had planned to use and would get back with me, and although I made some suggestions of how to do that, that job was nixed with a promise of the owner getting back with me on how to solve that problem. They did cut the overhanging branch; however, and did some other jobs "to make the trip worth while." Calls to the owner have not been answered about how they are going to deal with the bracing of the tree even with the suggestions I've made. So, actually all that was accomplished was the overhanging tree branch in the back yard. And, the tree bracing job is so small, it's difficult to get anyone to come here for just that. Needless to say, I'm not too happy with the results. A return phonecall would be nice from the owner, but I'm guessing it's not worth the $$ or the time to keep his word.
