Different crew came for foundation raising the next day. They were not as efficient and didn't do much when the supervisor wasn't around, waiting around. Crew chief didn't introduce himself until later and by dark (7 PM), all workers seemed rushed to leave as it was a Friday. The "responsible" one (requesting pay and doing the visual inspection with me supplying the lantern) seemed anxious to go. I paid by the job, if workers were paid by the hour, then some made some easy money.
Repointing of the bricks was bad - no effort in matching mortar color, using mortar to fill brick cracks. Indicator tape (painter's masking tape) for the excavation locations was left on the house, cleanup didn't seem important. Area of wall brick was busted out around the gas line into the house. Dirt refill looked fine, mounded. Other cleanup (boarder boards removed) were left in the yard. Removed insulation around a window was left in the yard.
Two weeks later, I had a new patio poured so footings had to be dug. Digging beside the fireplace, under the fireplace pad, a bottle jack was found and no back-fill under the fireplace pad nor around the jack. This delayed the patio pour. Called Basic Repair office. Got a return call from a "foreman", said that was natural as it was important to have that supported. Salesman came out, inspected and said that was not proper. He scheduled a group come out and put a concrete pier in place of the jack. Since it was late (after an out-of-town job), they were none too excited to additional (and late) work. Some of the areas were back-filled where sink-age had occurred. I'm not confident that the job is correct, it's not something you can see and prove.
Observe work and ask questions. Unfortunately during some of the work, I wasn't home.
Inside, doors & window work as designed, foundation seems solid and back to original level. I would not schedule this kind of work on a Thursday/Friday, opting for a Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday.
