We have used him for years and years. I think their cost is very reasonable. Probably more reasonable then others. I had a cat one time, that was injured, and her whole back was paralyzed, and no other veterinarian would work to save her life except Dr. Hegi. She had spinal injury, and all the rest just suggested putting her to sleep. I went to Dr. Hegi, and he explained to me what would be involved, and helping her recover, he said that sometimes they do. He had to teach me how to hand express her bladder, and sometimes I wouldn't do a good job, and I would take her to him. That cat recovered to full usage. He said it was simply because most people were not willing to go through the trouble, and certainly those veterinarians are not. I appreciated him so much for that. I was taking her twice a day there for a while.

I called in for a medication refill and it was ready when I got there. I've used Dr Hegi for a number of dogs and a cat for around 28 years. He truly cares about our animals and us. He's very detailed in his explanations. I've recommended him to many people.

We have five dogs and we actually only found the fleas on one dog but I wanted to be preventative. Luckily they were not in the house.

Dr. Don Hegi spent at least a 1/2 hour in the exam room with us and our 9 year old Dauchsund who was having a follow-up visit after some disc problem issues. He responded compassionately to our concerns and explained progress in explicit detail making us feel much better. He had obviously had prescribed the correct treatment as our "boy" is making good progress. We appreciated him not jumping on the "surgery" bandwagon immediately without exploring other options. Initially there was a medication issue but a dosage and prescription adjustment immediately resolved same. Having recently relocated to Lubbock, we feel extremely fortunate to have found this veterinary office which was referred to us by a friend who had used them exclusively for several years. They welcome and encourage phone calls to keep them informed of progress etc.
