What should have been a 2-3 day job took almost two weeks with several missed appointments, late arrivals, and not meeting guarantee to have it complete on a certain day. After they supposedly completed the project, an inspection of the work made it apparent the quality was very sub-par. The grout was cracking after the first day, many places the grout was not completely added, the trim work was not added back to the walls, concrete and grout were all over the walls and not cleaned up, thresholds were not installed, and no one can find evidence of the clean-out valve being installed on the outside of the house. (**10/30 Update, in a phone call they claim to have found the clean-out valve with a camera so this wasn't necessary. They were supposed to come on 10/30 at 10AM to complete the job and show us where the clean-out valve was. They never showed up. Once again, losing a day of work for a no-show from them.) I am very willing to pay a premium price for quality, however, this job was a premium price with sub-par quality. I have had two plumber/tile fitters look at the job and both said it should have taken no more than three days and they would have estimated the price at just over $1,000, half of what we were charged. I am having to finish the job myself as I am unwilling to let this crew come back into my home and cause any more of a mess. Note, this Mr. Rooter franchise also does business as Carter's Plumbing & Construction. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11/20 Update Received a call from real business owner on 11/17 apologizing for problems. It seems the person who said he was the owner was just an employee and this business is NOT related to Carter's plumbing, that is an employee's side business. Real owner compensated for unfinished work after seeing the photos on Angie's list. Received check on 11/19. I consider this resolved and withdraw the complaint.
