As I stated, Everett English and his help showed up almost an hour late. Talking to him on the phone, he kept calling my fiancee BABE! Where I grew up, you address someone you are doing business with as SIR or MAAM! He told me he was just being courteous... Right before he threatened to whip my A**... We will get to that later...
Our furniture is not new, and I told him this over and over as he pointed out every little knick and ding in any of my furniture. I told him repeatedly that as long as there was not a leg broken off a chair or table, I was fine with a ding or two... It happens!
My better half went to get cash from the ATM, and I asked him if he would put my bicycles on his truck for the originally agreed upon price of $245.00. The truck wasn't even half-full, and the apartment was pretty much empty. After pointing out again that he was not having to move the living room furniture, he agreed to carry the bicycles. When my fiancee returned with the money, I let her know that he had agreed to take the bicycles for no additional funds... just so everyone was on the same page.
We arrived at the new place, and I had to sign to authorize him to unload my belongings. At this point, Everett pointed out that I was to pay him, or else he would not unload my stuff. I told him that I would pay him when everything was unloaded, and it all went downhill from there! Everett told me that he would dump my SH!7 in the yard and I could sort it out!
I felt as if I had no choice but to give this guy his money. Otherwise, he may just leave with my belongings. I counted the $245.00 onto the counter and asked him to count the money, too. He did. I explained that I had just had the walls painted, and that I would be monitoring as his crew brought my stuff in. Business is business at this point, and I felt that things could not get worse. It did.
A neighbor saw the moving truck and came over to welcome us to the neighborhood. Everett and I were in the Master bedroom as he was noting each and every ding on the door facings. I told him that enough was enough, that he had my money and he needed to start unloading my belongings. He started yelling at me. He told me that I should talk to him like a human being and that he would WHIP MY A**!! The neighbor called 9-11. I told Everett to please exit my house until the police arrived.
What a way to be greeted into a new neighborhood... Everyone driving by wondering why two police cars were at the new neighbors' house!!! How humiliating!?!
Everett instructed his crew to put all my stuff in the garage. DO NOT go inside the house! He instructed them. Two police officers arrived and took statements from me, the new neighbor, my fiancee, and Everett. They watched as everything was unloaded from the Movers Express truck into my garage. I did tell Everett that he should give me some of my money back since he was not going to set everything up as first agreed upon. One of the police officers told me that I should not say anything else to him. I complied.
After accounting for everything and taking photos, I promptly went to the Longview Police Department and filed verbal assault charges.
What can I say? Bait and Switch! Rude, rude, rude!! Unprofessional!!! I guess you get what you pay for.... OH, but you don't know what you are paying if he quoted you over the phone! He has you over a barrel if you are crunched for time! Make sure you get a FIRM PRICE from a mover!!! NOT just a BID!!! I would suggest signing paperwork and having the mover survey the move prior to moving day.
Furthermore, I would never, ever, never recommend Everett English and Movers Express to ANYONE!!

1)  Down payment of $100 was sent in advance.  I gave them the date I wanted they to move my furniture.  They called me to confirm that they had received the money and confirm the time & date.
2)  They arrived very punctual.  After signing the paperwork, the supervisior came inside & surveyed all of the furniture, making any notes if he saw even the most minor scuff mark.  We reviewed his notes.
3)  The crew immediately began to move furniture out; taking very good care of it, especially since part of it was being moved down a narrow staircase.  They wrapped it well in the truck.  There was no time wasted.
4)  The truck arrived at the new home.  We reviewed where the furniture was to be placed & it was done as I wished.  Afterall the furniture was unloaded & placed, the supervisor & I looked at every piece to check for any scrapes or injury.  There was none; I signed off on the paperwork & paid them the remaining balance of $650.00.
Mover's Express was in and out in less than 5 hours.  Some of my furniture is antique and some is very heavy (solid oak).  The crew was very professional & took excellent care with it all.  I was very impressed by their efficiency and the courteous manner of the staff.
