great service. fast accurate repair.

First, the quibbles.... two minor ones:
- I ultimately found and purchased the used replacement part needed for the repair (an ECM on ebay) when the shop's trusted Texas channels failed to produce a used replacement; and
- I did have to initiate almost all of the status communication for the duration of the trouble shooting and repair, however, during any of the calls I made, I never felt rushed or like I was a nuisance.
My 1994 Honda Accord (I'm the original owner) developed an intermittent, seasonal problem a couple years ago where in hot weather it would die after running for a few minutes. Then for the next 1/2 to 1 hour would run and die... run and die... until finally it would run as if nothing was ever wrong.
For the past two years I've posted in Honda Forums and tried a couple suggestions. I have also been to a couple of good, trusted local shops, but the root problem was never found. It was narrowed down to an electrical issue.. and they are the toughest to pinpoint.
The problem worsened this Fall and I was referred to Kevin's Auto #2 on Hwy 80 East by the O'Reilly Auto manager (Longview's Gilmer Road store... which has a great stock of parts for old Hondas). Alex manages Kevin's #2.
Of course during its first visit to Kevin's, the Honda ran perfectly the entire two weeks it was there. While time was spent starting my car, I was not charged since they did not "fix it". A little over a week ago the problem surfaced and did not go away and a tow later it was back at Kevin's.
Kevin's systematically replaced likely components with spares they knew to be good, and reinstalled my originals until the root cause was identified - the ECM Computer. They did a lot of work for very little money...
I now have my local, Longview Honda repair shop...

He just does his job and does it well. He was excellent.
