They have excellent customer service and mechanics. If they don?t know how to help, they will point you in the right direction. Also, they are local. I use them for all my auto needs.

All went as expected and within reasonable quote amount.

Here's my review of the ACAR (Auto Consulting and Repair).



ACR has provided automotive services including repairs,

tires, brakes, oil changes and inspections for my family for years. We are

very happy with both the quality and cost of repairs. ACR has proven to be a

very professional team of individuals. They never leave trash or spots in your

car. They provide accurate estimates and complete their work on time. Their

waiting area is clean and comfortable. I recommend them to family and friends.

I have used these guys for a couple of years. They are very competent and professional. They have always handled any problems with thoroughness and promptness. All of that being said, they are very expensive. I haven't compared to everyone, but based on some other garages I've checked, they are one of the most expensive in town. If money is no object, you can't go wrong with ACR. If you're on a budget, you may want to shop around.

I made an appointment with Tom at the front desk, and he was very helpful. It was Thursday and he was able to schedule time for me on the following Tuesday. I brought the van in first thing in the morning on Tuesday the 22nd, when I was supposed to, and then walked home, as I live nearby (they don't have anyone to take you back home).

I came by the next morning, Wednesday, to check on their progress, and I spoke to the mechanic, Eddie, who was working on the van and seemed competent, and very focused and committed to doing a good job. He said that they had charged the system the day before, and were waiting to see if there were any leaks, but there didn't seem to be any. We discussed his approach and talked about some additional work that I would need to have done on the vehicle (there is an electrical drain that I can't find that makes the battery go flat, and I also asked him if he could make sure that all the vacuum fittings were in place, as I had seen some evidence that they were not).

Tom called me on Thursday morning to come get the van and I did. The air conditioner worked great, and the vacuum connections were all made. The price didn't make me gag, either. Seemed reasonable for the work that had been done.

These guys are very busy, which of course is because they have a lot of satisfied customers. My best advice is that when you use these guys, you should not be in a hurry, because good things are worth waiting for. They do a good job, and I have the van there right now for repairs on an unrelated issue.
