AC Contractors

They replaced my heating system about 10 years ago and the have been my heating people ever since.

I joined their club where they would do a monthly service. During their monthly service, they found a problem. It was relatively minor problem but the guy talked me into replacing the whole system. It was 12 years old and new it would be a lot more efficient. But my son who works in the house doing online computer work saying it was not the right time. Thinking that was his strategy and we ended up buying one. They are a little more expensive but since they do very good work, I decided that I could afford to pay a little extra. When they came and said I needed a new one, I got a second opinion and they said the same. I was a member of their club. They give you a discount.

I am not sure that it needed to be replaced, because it went back out. I think he did what he could, maybe that is something that needed replacing too. They came out really quick, because our air conditioner was out. I am not sure on quality, because it broke down and we started having the same problem. It's hard to say, maybe we did need that part, but that is not what was causing the problem apparently. They did come out. Maybe that is something that need to be replaced. I hate to give a less than grade, when that might have been something that needed to be replaced. It wasn't what it ultimately needed.

The guy that came out, I felt like he did an excellent job. The unit itself, we have not been real pleased with. The company is okay and the service guys that come out, at least the one that came out the last time, we really liked him. He was good. We just have problems with the fact that the air conditioners relatively new and we’ve already had to replace several things on it.

Contacted this business on Monday, 13 January 2014  for a quote on cleaning of a dryer vent ductwork.  I spoke with Karen who was helpful and professional.  She informed that someone would come to my home at 3:00 p.m. that same day.  To be sure, I confirmed with her that someone was indeed coming at 3:00 p.m. today (Monday) and she said yes.  No one showed up at the appointment time, and no one called.  I eventually called the business (too late to catch them open however) and left a message for someone to call me about the appointment.  Contractor called around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, 14 January.  I informed what had happened.  Also informed that I lost confidence in the contractor and would not be using their service.

I've known the owner of A/C Contractors for a long time and they have a good reputation. The price I paid the last time is unbeatable, I don't think anyone could have done that for the price they offer. They are punctual, they were here when they said they're going to be and they call first to let us know that they are coming.

I have a membership with them and I pay by the month. They come out anytime I need them. With the membership they are guaranteed to be there by the end of the day. The last time they came on a Sunday and they came within 1 1/2 hours. I pay $35 a month and it has paid for itself many times. I was satisfied with the work. I would recommend the membership. They also clean up after themselves.

A/C Contractors installed the system when my house was built. They are very professional and prompt. They call me back immediately that day and sometimes within an hour. I like that the service tech called me before he came over. I highly recommend them to anybody.

They did a really good job and did it quickly. They were polite, professional and they all wore uniforms. They knew what they were doing. Their prices were excellent.

The reason we would not use AC Contractors again is that we paid them to assess any problems with the unit and they missed two important issues.  We did not ask them for a partial refund because new issues came up but because they didn't find the existing issues. 
We were told the main unit was too old to be guaranteed and strongly urged to replace it. We understood but disagreed that it needed to be replaced immediately, in that the unit cooled the house fine. During the visit the technician spent around an hour continually coming back over to 'shoot the breeze' and talk about how bad the unit is. If he had been on an hourly rate we would have asked him to leave.
The problem is that the technician said there was no leak in the line even though it looked to him  that there was.  Another technician was out later with another company repairing a thermostat wire that the AC Contractors guy had told us needed to be buried.  This other company found that there was a leak in the outside lines.  We also found that the thermostat wire was cut in several places.  The AC Contractors technician didn't even find this even though it was above ground and clearly visible.
We know the unit is too old and they would not guarantee it.  This is not our complaint.  Our problem is that we paid to have the unit assessed and tuned up and that the technician did not find the obvious leak.  The unit currently had enough freon but later in the summer the freon would likely have dropped potentially causing damage to the unit all the while we would have been resting in the incorrect knowledge that our unit was not leaking.
The unit is old, that's what they kept telling us when we called to work this out.  Yes, we know this.  But it cools the house perfectly.  All we asked AC Contractors for was a refund or even partial refund on the service call for that unit  but they refused because the unit was not 'gauranteed'.   It made it look like they can do shoddy work and simply write on the invoice that it's not their problem.

We have been extremely satisfied with them. They are very good.  We haven’t had any problems with the work they do, they’re prompt and their prices are reasonable.

I put the annual cost of a maintenance plan which is billed in monthly installments.  I have the Gold Plan which provides 24 hour service anytime there is an issue.  None of the three service calls I have had since purchasing the agreement have cost me.  I've had two preventive maintenance visits since I started the plan about a year ago and I have been extremely pleased with both PM's.  When I first turned on the A/C about three weeks ago, it did not come on.  It was after-hours when I called.  The repairman promptly returned my call and told me he would arrive as soon as he finished the job he was currently working on.  He arrived by 7:00 and diagnosed the problem with a faulty wire.  He fixed the issue and checked the freon levels as a precaution since the A/C had not been turned on over the winter.  He explained everything he was doing which I thought was a nice touch.  I really like this company.

We have had very good luck with them. They have a plan where we pay so much a month, and it takes care of just about everything on our heating and air conditioning, like thermostats and coming out and fixing things. It doesn’t cover everything, but it covers a large amount of the ongoing maintenance. We have been using them for ten years and they have been very consistent. We are older and we don’t have people that can do much of anything, so, having somebody that looks after it for us and all we have to do is call them or they turn up every so often to check everything, it is a very good deal to have that monthly service deal. There are not too many people that do that. They found out that we had full cover on our heater that was taken years ago, and they took care of it immediately.

They are knowledgeable and punctual.

The problem was something to do with work that they had done previously, and some wires weren't connected right, so they came out and fixed it for free. That is why we always use them. They are honest and dependable, and they are very upfront with their prices. We would use them again in the future, so much so that I signed a year's service contract when they came out the last time.

They inspected the system and put some freon in it.They were very good but kind of pricey.

It went very quickly and painlessly.  The system has operated perfectly for the past 5 years.  The only downsize is the cost of the filters, which run about $16each.

I am not pleased.  They did not fix the problem and now I need to have my carpet and sub floor replaced because of it.  We have a service contract and they were suppose to come out for a routine check.  Turned out we found a week later that my air conditioner was flowing water onto the floor.
