The project was frustrating from the beginning. Valentine Construction continued to miss deadlines and ended up walking off the job, leaving it uncompleted with leaking roofs, floor seamline, and other issues. He did not communicate with us adequately throughout the project, and would often not answer my calls, During the course of the job, We were given more than a dozen deadlines, and in the end, he simply stopped coming out to the job site altogether. The job Dan Valentine did is substandard, and I would never hire him again. We were never able to verify whether or not he was properly insured to do the job. After I attempted to contact Dan Valentine on several occasions to sit with him and discuss completing the job, to no avail, I engaged with Kingwood Cabinetry, since Greg King Recommended Dan for the job, I was hoping that he could convince Dan to come back to the Job site and complete the job. Unfortunately, Mr King relayed to me that Dan was "sour" over the experience and is not interested in completing the job. This is after Dan had been paid for the job. We are now in the process of seeking another contractor to complete the work that Valentine Construction left undone. We are very disappointed in this mans work in his work ethic and his unwillingness to stand by his word. We hope that others will consider carefully, whether or not to hire Valentine Construction. On a side note, Kingwood Cabinetry did a wondeful job on the cabinets and once we get the punch list completed and any rework issues completed, we will be writing a separate review for them.
Description of Work: Valentine Construction was recommended by and hired to assist Kingwood Cabinetry in completing the construction, plumbing and electricity for a Kitchen Remodeling job. Dan also agreed to construct a Breezeway between the main house and the garage, and several other smaller projects, including installing windows and completing rock work, plumbing and electrical work. The entire project cost approximatelly $60,000.00, and Dans portion of that was approximately $22,000.00.
