John is punctual and knowledgeable. He installed my 2 faucets after a remodel then returned to caulk my new sink. He goes the extra mile. I will use him again.

They are excellent people and we have been doing business with them forever. They come out they take care of the problem and don't charge a whole lot. All I can say is that are an excellent family business
Description of Work: I used Sullivan Plumbingto about 2 months ago. We have a little business and they put in a new meter and our meter works right. They discovered the meter had been clogged up so they cleaned the meter and everything works.

I like my plumber, John Sullivan. He had to order a special part for the toilet because it was colored. He wanted the same color and brand and they didn't stock those. His wife is a friend of mine, so I can call John any time, day, or night. He comes by fast when I call him. He will sometimes come the same day I call him. I think all plumbers are high in pricing.
Description of Work: I used Sullivan Plumbing Inc in September 2011. The toilet tank was leaking, so I called him.

John did a wonderful job. John came to start the project and let his assistant complete the work. They were clean and minimized cuts in drywall. John came back to ensure that it was done right. They had to reschedule once, but were able to get out a few days later. One other note is that during the big freeze when I had an emergency repair need, John let me know that it would take at least 4 days before he could make it out. Although I had to get another plumber who was able to make it out in 2 days, I appreciated John's honesty and professionalism.
Description of Work: Re-routed pipes in the kitchen ceiling to avoid future potential freeze breaks.

Description of Work: I have worked with John for at least 6 months and of all the plumbing services he is the absolute BEST!!!! All I can say is that if you like quality work, technical experience and rapid response then you should call these guys. I had a new, more efficient water heater put in and a new toilet. They also serviced my other water heater. I am very pleased with their work.

I was impressed with their professionalism and keeping us informed. They did their best not to tear up any more walls than necessary and did a good job of cleaning up when they were done. The job took a little longer than they first estimated but since it was a fixed price and I told him up front that I would be flexible as long as the water was on when they left, I was happy with the job and result. We had one minor problem a day or two after they left and they were out pretty quick to fix it.
Description of Work: Most of our house had polybutelene plumbing that needed to be replaced. We hired John Sullivan to replace it with copper. The job included 3 1/2 baths, kitchen, laundry room, etc. John also offered to do it with Pex for about $3950 but I didn't want to go back with plastic considering the problems we experienced. I told John we were flexible as to when the work was done. He did mix some other jobs in with ours which I had told him in advance was OK. All told, I think they were here 5 or 6 days over two weeks. John was the only one willing to give me a fixed price bid without caveats and his bid was lower than the other sort of fixed bid I got but they wanted $175 an hour if they ran into any surprises. John took all the risk on the job and stayed with his fixed price.

On February 18, 2010, he called me and told me he was down with the flu and wanted to send his helper out to work on the shut off valves. I reminded him we also needed the leak worked on. The leaking toilet seal was a little more involved than anticipated so a second trip back was needed for parts. John's helper may be a fairly good plumber but probably isn't as strong on the business side. John had told me his rate was $96 an hour. He ended up charging me 3 hours @ $96 for his helper plus a $27.50 trip charge to do the shut off valves. I think part of that was because they ended up having to bail water out of a hole they had previously dug. In addition, they charged me $139.60 for repairing the toilet flange and resetting it. They were supposed to call the home warranty company first if it was over $125 but his helper didn't do it. He still wanted to get paid so I paid him since John had done a good job for me on the previous job but I wrote on the tickets I was not pleased with the overages and asked for John to call me when he got well. John called me about a week later. He agreed he had told he thought they could do the shut off valves in two hours but he said he didn't promise it to me. I asked him why I was charged $96 an hour for his helper when there was no licensed plumber here. He told me that his helper was close to getting his license. He did offer to call the home warranty company and move the trip charge to their ticket but he wasn't willing to negotiate on the charges. He did call the home warranty company and sent me a corrected ticket for that work to increase what I would be reimbursed for.
Description of Work: I had hired John Sullivan to do a replumb of the house and wanted to replace and/or add a couple shut off valves outside. He knew this well before the job started but it wasn't part of the formal contract or bid. He told me that he could do it with a couple hours labor @ $96/hr. While he was doing the re-plumb, he found that a toilet seal was leaking. I have a home warranty company so I told him I would call it in and get them to cover it He finished the replumb on January 20, 2010 but decided to put off the outside shut off valves to catch up on some other jobs. We talked a couple of times and put it off a couple of times due to heavy rains and concerns that the areas he needed to work might be flooded.

It went better than expected.
Description of Work: I have used this company twice and will use them in the future for plumbing needs. The first time I called them, I had purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowes and the installer told me I had serious problem with the box that holds the hot and cold water sources for the washer and it would have to be completely replaced. I called Sullivan's and told them this and asked how soon they could come make the repairs. They were very prompt when scheduled for the next day and announced that the entire box did not need to be replaced but they could solve the problem much less expensively. Since they were there, I asked them to repair a sluggish toilet which they also did quickly. The bottom line is that they could have charged me much more money and I would have never been the wiser. They did an excellent, honest, professional job and I was impressed. Have used them since for a plumbing problem at my office and had a similarly good experience.

Called John a few weeks back to schedule the hookups after our granite was installed. John called in the morning and was out at my house that afternoon as promised. He had to rebuild the plumbing because the new sink was deeper than the former sink. He did not charge me more. John is an honest guy with really good plumbing skills. His price was half of two other quotes I received.
Description of Work: Set new kithchen faucet. Hooked up water lines and disposal to drain lines for the kithchen sink. Connected flex line and regulator for the cooktop. Checked line for leaks.

When I first called John and he gave me a price to remove and install faucets, I thought his price was too high. When I recieved two other estimates, they were more than double his price. John came to perform his work exactly when he said he would, was very professional and trustworthy, and did a great job.
Description of Work: John removed 6 bathroom faucets and installed new ones. Also fixed bathroon toilet.

Mr. Sullivan was prompt for the appointment time set, and worked for several hours to locate the leak. This is a 30-year-old plus house, for which there are no blueprints, or information on water lines available to me or the small city in which I live. So, it was literally a "poke-and-prod" process for him. The leak was found, and Mr. Sullivan gave me two alternate methods of repair, but actually recommended the less expensive one, as the plastic piping is commonly used now in place of all-copper tubing. He offered to leave a tool for me to use if I wanted to leave the water turned off overnight. He arrived the next day at the appointed time, and worked until the leak was repaired and verified by watching the water meter. He filled in the narrow ditch that had been dug for replacement and hosed the dirt down to help settle it.
Description of Work: Located a major water line leak (unfortunately, on my side of the water meter), and replaced defective and old piping with industrial grade plastic piping. Installed a cut-off valve so that the water could be shut off immediately if any further old piping were to break.

When I called he was very professional explaining that I could purchase a garbage disposal and then he would install it. This is what I chose to do which reduced the overall cost. He was on time and neat, he cleaned up and was careful not to damage the floor surface as he worked. He reused the plug from the leaking disposal and took the old disposal away with him. He answered my questions about hot water tanks and even looked at my rain barrels to advise me how to better install the spickets. I am very satisfied with his work.

The trenches were 120 feet long, which he tied into the back of the house, he went through the wall. He established gas for the grill and the gas fireplace. He came back to check on the plumbing about 20 times as the other work was being done. He's also done work for me with the toilets, he is very professional, honest, and reasonable.
Description of Work: In the back room he did all of the water, and all of the gas. His company dug trenches to bring the gas and water to the kitchen.

John, the owner is a gentleman, very knowledgeable, and is reasonable. His bid came in 60% of the other bids. He only required 2/3s of the $$ after the main portion was completed. The remainder was paid when we were satisfied. By mistake his crew cut a sprinkler line. John fixed it that day. He was very apologetic. His crew were very polite and competent. They were very eager to please me. They even replanted some of my herbs which I never would have expected. John even helped me find an electrician because he thought that they might be able to use the same ditch for their work. This was very thoughtful and it also saved me money. I would highly recommend Sullivan Plumbing. They are going to do our plumbing in the spring when we build our outdoor pool bathroom.

The overall experience was very positive. Coordinating contractors was not an issue. Once the original tile was removed, he was able to complete the plumbing work the next day. The tile contractor then finished, and he returned to complete the installation of the fixtures.
Description of Work: We renovated our master bathroom. We had the shower head raised 6 inches and installed the new shower head and controls. He also removed the old drain from the shower pan and replaced it with a new one.
