Not happy! Had 4 new @TRANE systems installed in December 2022. 1 AC unit has never consistently worked. Southern Comfort merged with Allied American. Southern comfort diagnosed the issue and they want to charge us $600 bucks to make it work. Just a bunch of finger pointing. John Bentley

Our 5 yr old Trane heater went out during the cold weather this year. I called Trane and they confirmed it would be covered under warranty, then sent me to Southern Comfort Mechanical for repairs. Tech Joshua Fry showed up a few days later and diagnosed the problem in about 20 minutes. Trane had told me, and Joshua confirmed, that I had to pay labor and the parts would be covered by warranty. He told me labor was $968. I thought that was extreme, but figured it was something big that needed to be replaced. He had to order them and showed up a few days later to install them. Imagine my surprise when he had two small parts and the repair was done in less than a half hour. Red flags were popping up, but I had no choice than to pay him as it was cold and we needed heat. Trane DID CONFIRM that these parts were sent to this dealer under warranty, so this dealer got the parts free from Trane but still gouged me by forcing me to pay exorbitant prices for them when my house was cold!

My main A/C unit went out and I had used Southern Comfort to do hail damage repair last year, which was done well (found them through Angie's list). They had a couple of techs come out around 8:00 PM that night. I expected to pay an increased price for the service call, but never expected a bill this large. The tech said the unit was low on Freon and advised me the Freon was around 100 lb. At the time I did not know this was overpriced (r-22 is only around $25 to $32 a lb. for their cost). Also, I asked about some type of leak test and the tech told me I would have to schedule someone else to come out and do that separately. He proceeded to put 6 lbs. of Freon in the system. The bill was over 1,000 and I was not that happy, but paid the bill. I called the office to schedule a leak search and they had another tech come out and he found that I had a leak in the coil. They quoted me a price to replace the coil (no discount). I talked with two other A/C companies recommended by my neighbors and they both said they should have done a leak test on the initial call. Also, both these companies said that if I used them for the coil replacement there would be no cost for the Freon to keep the system running..just an initial $125 for the emergency service call. I have contracted with Allied American to replace the coil because I feel they are more honest. Southern Comfort overcharged me and did not perform the troubleshooting as they should have according to two other companies. I don't have any problem with the quality of work that Southern Comfort does, but feel they haven't been fair with the emergency call and the way they handled the troubleshooting of the problem.

I called this company to get a second opinion on a repair to my AC unit. The contractor sent by my home warranty company told me I had a leak in my evaporator coil after they replaced my furnace. As it turns out, Southern Comfort was able to verify not just a leak, but identified a screw hole which punctured my unit and evaporator coil causing a massive leak which could only have been caused by the contractor. They wrote this up in their report and I was able to go back to the contractor with pics and video and get this fixed at their cost. If it hadn’t been for Southern I would not have been able to achieve this.

The main reason that I chose this company was of 3 companies that bid this project only Jason took out a ladder and looked in the attic at the venting and asked if I had issues. I just had the guys out on 10/30/17 to install a heating unit, our old unit was 20 years old and had rusted out. The install went great and the unit works well. If the unit works as planned and the water from the a/c condenser does not rust-out this new unit we should be good. Very nice crew, fair price and I really appreciate Jason asking if I had any "air" issues in the house. I did have air flow issues and for a fair price they fixed some poor ducting that we had acquired in 2010 from another vendor, my wife is VERY VERY happy.

Routine check due to the age of the unit. Replaced some taping on the top part of the unit free of charge. Very thorough and ver nice. Explained issues I might expect due to the age of the unit. Great experience and unexpected because I’ve had bad experiences with ac companies in the past. Will definitely call them again if /when I need ac service!

The company I had used for many years closed when the owner decided to retire. So I was trying to work unsuccessfully with a home warranty company and one of their recommended companies. After almost 2 weeks without air, I fired them. I contacted Southern Comfort. Robert arrived less than 3 hours after first talking with the office staff. He was very professional and knowledgeable about what he was doing. He was able to replace the motor without having to order the part and reschedule another appointment sometime the following week. (All tactics the other company used to not do anything.) My unit was up and working in less than 4.5 hours after first contacting them. Robert was great. He makes an excellent representative for the company. This is what customer service is all about. Without a doubt, I will be using them again.

Very good, was several years ago and no issue since. I have two AC units (up and down) and the smaller one was sitting on a hard plastic foundation and they replaced it with a cement one at no charge and it was their idea, not mine! Great customer service. Wood definitely recommend.

Noise could not be recreated. Inspected furnace and could not find anything wrong. Recommended to continue to watch. Did not want to replace motor without hearing the noise.
