The quote was made in person with the owner, Travis Sales. We did discuss out of scope topics that would be added (possibly) later in the project. I received a verbal quote with who was to pay for what. I accepted. The owner asked for another 3,000 dollars at the end of the project to cover out of scope items. I asked for and never received an updated quote which explained the cost other than "it's for labor". Here's where my bathroom stands today: the walls have tile that do not lay flat, as does the floor. There are nails that were never counter-sunk in the trim work. The shower floor is uneven and has tile that is uneven, meaning the hexagon is cut in half at one corner and fades to less than a quarter at the other corner. The shower has a "lip" and a plastic border rather than grout. Mulitple tiles were installed chipped. Multiple tiles do not reach their edge and have been filled in with grout Grout either missing or below tile throughout leaving a sharp edge as you walk barefoot. I asked the owner to come by and inspect is trades work. He refused and said he stands by his trade. I sent him multiple pictures and asked him to reconsider. As of this writing, he has ignored my request although, oddly he has responded to my friend. The owner is used to working with people who buffer him from the client and his communication skills are lacking. He is hostile when you question him and is hard to communicate with (when you can). I do not recommend him at all.
