The provider had to completely tear out shoddy work performed by Rock Your House (see my review of their work).  Once the shower was deconstructed, CCC showed me where RYH had screwed screws into the shower pan liner, to attach pieces of 1x2 wood, along the rim of the shower floor.  He took photos for me to have, on record, as our ?smoking gun?.  The whole house would have eventually been damaged from water had we used the shower RYH built as the shower pan liner had screw holes all the way around it.  The materials were again, as with RYH, selected by me (the homeowner).  The vendor (Wayne?s Carpet) in Aubrey was a delight and very helpful.  CCC selects only the finest craftsmen and subcontractors to work with.  From beginning to end, Mike Davis and anyone he recommended, were professional, courtesy, and trustworthy.   With children and pets in and out all day, it?s important to have kindhearted workers on our property.  Mike is definitely everything we hoped for and more!   Our Master bath is stunning.  Not only will we enjoy every day in it, but we will definitely see a ROI should we need to move in the future.  

He was amazing. The owner's bid was very detailed, probably the most detailed bids we saw. We liked him. We thought he was a really good guy. Mike Davis is a great builder. He is worth investigating.

His name is Mike Davis. The experience went really well and he was easy to work with. He did everything we wanted him to do and he did it on time.

We started with a long list of 13 custom home builders that we interviewed. Slowly we winnowed the list down to Mike Davis at Cross Country Custom Homes. Hiring Mike was a good decision. A custom home builder is best judged, in my opinion, by looking at three criteria.

• Professionalism of the company/owner
• The caliber and quality of the subcontractors the builder hires
• Ability to respond to needs/concerns in a timely fashion during and after construction

Mike performed admirably in each category. Insofar as the subcontractors were concerned, some were clearly better than others. Most I give a grade of "A". A few earned a "B" and only one earned an "F".
There were the to be expected bumps in the road along the way. In my view problems are simply an opportunity for a provider to prove that he's up to the task. For the most part Mike did as I would expect of builder of his caliber. We agreed to disagree on a couple of items but these issues were comparatively minor given the overall scope of the project and certainly not enough to detract from an overall grade of "A" for Mike and his firm.
Would I hire Mike again if I were to undertake another project of similar scope? Definitely yes.
Would I give an unequivocal recommendation to use Cross Country Custom Homes to a friend wanting to build a custom home. Again, definitely yes.

Mike Davis (Cross Country Homes) built a house for us more than 25 years ago, so we knew of his solid reputation of quality work.
When a catastrophic hailstorm came through our area, our home and outbuildings suffered extensive damage, I contacted Mike Davis. He took on our job, and immediately set out in his typical professional and knowledgable manner. Mike methodically made notes of our needs and preferences.
CCH subcontractors are top-notch. Mike constantly monitored the job, and kept us advised throughout the process.
The work was completed quickly and right on schedule. His bid was totally transparent, and at the end, right on the money for the work completed. Our property is high-end, and that is typical of the type of property he regularly works with.  We have high expectations for contractors, and CCH easily met our needs.
