Very good. The Vets and their staff are very nice and professional! Never feel like they are trying to rush you in and out. They make sure you understand what is going on and what can be done to have a healthy happy 4-legged member of the family.

"[Member Name Removed] thank you so much for your kind words and sweet review. It is always hard to say goodbye to our furry family members. Congratulations on the new furry family members. We too wish we had a separate waiting room for felines. Please ask at the front desk and we can put you directly in an exam room to help make them more comfortable!"

They were able to get us in within a couple of hours of my calling them. They got us in and got our dog taken care of.
They were all very nice and professional.  They called our previous vet and got our records for us.

Dr.  Strauch was the examining physician. He was kind, compassionate and spent a lot of time with us.
This was our first visit to their office due to being open on a Saturday and our urgent concern over our dog being bitten.
I was extremely concerned with my small dog and the puncture wound to her ear and swelling in the neck.
It has been 2 days and she is much better.
My husband and I really appreciated the time Dr. Strauch spent with us and discussing our situation. The dog bite was from one of our other dogs and he spent time helping us understand dog behavior and providing thoughts on how to avoid in the future. He had  outstanding bedside manner! The office staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and we were provided a New Patient coupon of $25 to help with the bill. We will be making this our permanent vet.

I had brought in Riley to the vet (my son had used this vet for Riley for his vaccinations), Riley had started throwing up and had yelped like he had pulled a muscle.  The vet did a quick exam and provided a shot to settle the stomach and a muscle relaxer, I went back two days later because Riley was no better, the vet assistant took Riley to the back and did a blood work up, I waited about 30 minutes, came and all is fine at this time, I could either do an x-ray next, I asked her thoughts and she said that I could wait, but if something happen to take Riley to the emgerency vet.  At this time it was the holiday, and I hoped for improvement in his condition.  I called my vet that I use for my pets the following day and took him there and I had explained what had been done, he did a fecal test, x-ray and and feel the abdomen, he felt a mass, he recommended surgery, it was scheduled for two hours later and Riley had swallowed a whole pecan and it was lodged.
I feel I was getting no where with first vet other than to say you can take him to the emgerency vet if something happens.  I spend over $300.00 and did not feel like there was any compassion and they were ready to start the holidays and I was the last appointment.
The billing at my vet's office was $610, that is with xray, fecal test, surgery and recovery at the vet for 2 days.  Wow what a different in pricing and service.
I will not be taking Riley back to them in the future for his vaccinations.

Having just adopted a dog (2 year old Corgi/Dachshund mix) I was anxious to get him into a Vet for a checkup and to have his nails trimmed.  I couldn't have been happier with Highland Village Animal Medical Center.  From the receptionists to the Vet everyone was professional, friendly and caring.  I'll be back for now on.

I am very disappointed in ths vet. I have been using them for the past 4 years and was usually happy. I will never take another pet there again. We have an 17 1/2 year old cat that became extremely ill. She had just been in 5 days earlier for her steroid shot for allergies. The vet and I were very concerned due to the weightloss of a whole pound when we came back in, lethargicness, and non eating. THey suggested bloodwork be done again for the kidneys and an xray to see if anything was going on. I mentioned that I had seen blood in her stool and vet just said ok without being concerned. I was told GI tract problems do not usually appear in cats this age. The vet was very focused only on her kidneys because of age of cat. They informed me her numbers were bad for kidney tests and said she was probably in renal failure since the numbers changed in 5 days and was put on a special vet cat food diet. Vet did not take in consideration that a steroid can artifically inflate these numbers(which I found out later from a different vet). Our cat kept getting worse even on diet. She would barely eat or move. I told them again about runny bloody stool again. On my insistance they did a fecal parasite test that turned up negative. We decided cat would not last much longer and got a second opinion somewhere else. Turns out her numbers were not bad for kidney tests and was not in kidney renal failure. She had a urinary bladder infection and a GI tract infection. She could of died from something treatable not tested for by this vet. They assumed cat had bad kidneys because she was old. Cat is fine now and no longer sick due to our new vet. She would of died if we had kept going down the bad kidneys route with our usual vet. They need to not assume that just because an animal is old that they will fit the usual diagnostic mold.
Response from ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER OF HIGHLAND VILLAGE
"We disagree with the client's assertions, based on the following facts. In regards to the allegations that: a. "...a steroid can artificially inflate these numbers (which I found out later from a different vet)." b. "Turns out her numbers were not bad for kidney tests..." The increase in BUN (a common marker for renal insufficiency) is not secondary to steroid use. Nor is there another explanation for the increase in the aforementioned value, other than chronic renal insufficiency, especially in an 18-year old cat. These facts were confirmed by a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist that we consulted on the case. This client was not told that her cat was in kidney failure; rather, that the labwork values indicated that early kidney insufficiency could be an issue. Additionally, kidney and bladder issues are medical issues that can be confusing, which may have contributed to the concerns this owner had with her cat's care. Based on the medical records sent to us, the BUN was not rechecked, so it is unknown how the kidneys are doing at this time. We have tried to contact this client to follow up and discuss her case, but they have not returned our call. We are very glad that this patient has recovered and is doing well. However, because of the increased statistical rate of kidney dysfunction in geriatric cats, as well as the fact that the BUN is almost two times higher than the normal reference range, the potential for chronic renal insufficiency still shouldn't be ignored. The value is significant, and should be rechecked. We would be glad to discuss this case further with the client, if they wish to follow up with us."

He is a very good veterinarian who is really good with animals and diagnosing them. He has a really nice reputation with his clients. When we first moved from Canada, he had a small office around the corner from our house. We just started going to him. Since then he has built a new clinic, and we just followed him there.

The clinic and veterinarians are top notch. I have taken my pets there for about nine years because I trust them. They are expensive veterinarians but very good. Plus I get a senior discount on services.

They have always been kind, caring, and efficient. They take the time to do things well and right. They are a little expensive, but I find I do not worry about my animals when they are there.
