"[Member Name Removed] thank you so much for your kind words and sweet review. It is always hard to say goodbye to our furry family members. Congratulations on the new furry family members. We too wish we had a separate waiting room for felines. Please ask at the front desk and we can put you directly in an exam room to help make them more comfortable!"
They were all very nice and professional. They called our previous vet and got our records for us.
They have made follow up calls to check on the dog.
This was our first visit to their office due to being open on a Saturday and our urgent concern over our dog being bitten.
I was extremely concerned with my small dog and the puncture wound to her ear and swelling in the neck.
It has been 2 days and she is much better.
My husband and I really appreciated the time Dr. Strauch spent with us and discussing our situation. The dog bite was from one of our other dogs and he spent time helping us understand dog behavior and providing thoughts on how to avoid in the future. He had outstanding bedside manner! The office staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and we were provided a New Patient coupon of $25 to help with the bill. We will be making this our permanent vet.
I feel I was getting no where with first vet other than to say you can take him to the emgerency vet if something happens. I spend over $300.00 and did not feel like there was any compassion and they were ready to start the holidays and I was the last appointment.
The billing at my vet's office was $610, that is with xray, fecal test, surgery and recovery at the vet for 2 days. Wow what a different in pricing and service.
I will not be taking Riley back to them in the future for his vaccinations.
"We disagree with the client's assertions, based on the following facts. In regards to the allegations that: a. "...a steroid can artificially inflate these numbers (which I found out later from a different vet)." b. "Turns out her numbers were not bad for kidney tests..." The increase in BUN (a common marker for renal insufficiency) is not secondary to steroid use. Nor is there another explanation for the increase in the aforementioned value, other than chronic renal insufficiency, especially in an 18-year old cat. These facts were confirmed by a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist that we consulted on the case. This client was not told that her cat was in kidney failure; rather, that the labwork values indicated that early kidney insufficiency could be an issue. Additionally, kidney and bladder issues are medical issues that can be confusing, which may have contributed to the concerns this owner had with her cat's care. Based on the medical records sent to us, the BUN was not rechecked, so it is unknown how the kidneys are doing at this time. We have tried to contact this client to follow up and discuss her case, but they have not returned our call. We are very glad that this patient has recovered and is doing well. However, because of the increased statistical rate of kidney dysfunction in geriatric cats, as well as the fact that the BUN is almost two times higher than the normal reference range, the potential for chronic renal insufficiency still shouldn't be ignored. The value is significant, and should be rechecked. We would be glad to discuss this case further with the client, if they wish to follow up with us."
